I've watched him since freshman year and have never seen anything resembling a "gunslinger mentality", but my word is no better than yours.
The thing that really makes this a bad comparison, IMO, is the attitude, intellegence, etc. Cutler is not a winner. He is not a leader, from what we know. He struggles separating his receivers from DBs.
Barkely is the opposite of all these, great kid, great leader, a guy who you can rely upon to protect the ball. This is a guy who plays guitar at church every Sunday, not Jay Cutler.

Attitude wise Barkley has had a few issues. People have given him a rep for being very cocky.
I personally don't and never have seen an issue with Cutler's attitude. I just think it's just a lot of sour Bronco fans filled with hate because they wish he was stl here,
but I don't want to turn this into a Jay Cutler thread.
Barkley throws down the field frequently, looking for big plays. I watch a good share of USC games. I've always just considered him a bit of a 'gunslinger' I guess,

In this Class I think there's 3 tiers of 1st round QB's,
Luck
then a BIG gap to Barkley
then the next tier of Jones, RG3, Foles.... I think the drop off from Barkley to Jones is pretty significant.
I see Luck and Barkley as sure fire franchise QB's. I expect very big things from both of them.
Jones I also like, but not to the degree of Luck/Barks.
RG3 is my favorite player in college, and I think he CAN be a franchise QB. But he has some developing to do.
Foles I see as a OK pro. But no one i'd really feel
comfortable being my team's QB going forward.

Robert griffen the third=michael vick with out character issues. there around the same profiency as a pocket passer. if not Griffen ahead, in college. RG3 going to be beastin in the pros withthe proper development he is my number one QB easily.
Michael Flody= TO
Ryan Broyles= Wes Welker
justin blackmon=smaller andre johnson
Ryan Tannehill=jake plummer
Matt Barkley=per steve clarkson a cross between joe montana and tom brady
Nick Foles= Joe Flacco
Kellen moore=even smaller drew brees
Trent Richardson=Stephan DAvis/johnathan stewart maybe a bit faster.
Lamicheal james=CJ2k/spiller/best
christin michael= very effective.sigpic

Jones is way better than Barkley. Barkley reminds me more of a Matt Ryan/Carson Palmer type. Cutler=HUGE ATTITUDE/EGO, but that's for a different thread. Blackmon reminds me of Dez Bryant"Happiness is just an illusion, filled with sadness and confusion." Jimmy Ruffin

Arizona QB Nick Foles
Im not a draft expert but...
Nick Foles the QB out of Arizona is a gamer, and I havent seen or heard many people talking about him outside of the Tucson area. All of us Wildcats alumni and fans are really high on this kid.
He's definentely a gamer and can put the team on his shoulders and carry them to wins. He can make all the throws. Granted he's not as good as Luck or as hyped, but the kid can play.
Plus hes a monster, 6'5'' and 240 lbs. Hes tough and is a senior this season. Could be a good pick up for us since we need depth next year anyway.
Just wanted to throw that out there and see what you guys think.
His game against Oregon will be on tomorrow night on ESPN2 at 7:15 local time which is 8:15 Denver time. Check it out!
Here's his profile from ESPN
