Jets Claim WR Marty Gilyard.


Cowboys claimed FB Tony Fiammetta off waivers from the Panthers.
A 2009 fourth-rounder out of Syracuse, Fiammetta was highly regarded in Carolina until coming down with a concussion/neck injury in the preseason opener. He's purely a lead blocker, with just seven carries and five catches in two years. Related: Panthers

Jets claimed QB Kevin O'Connell off waivers from the Dolphins

I wonder if this means they go ahead and release Brunell? Because McElroy seemed to be better than expected for them as a developmental prospect.

O'Connell was that quarterback they cut on Hard Knocks, I think.

Edited to add: Schefter just tweeted that McElroy was put on IR. I hadn't heard that he had a season ending injury.

Nothing announced at least. Claims had to have been made by 10am MST (2.5 hours ago).

I am not surprised. There weren't many players worth claiming. PS signings are about the best we can hope for, besides 1 or 2 vet signings.
