Let me start off by saying that the 2012 draft may be one of the best years to trade down. I know that this is the talk for the past couple years, but this year we really should trade down. I will also say that I think we will be picking anywhere from 8-11.Let me dive into the mock.
TRADE: Denver trades down to the mid-teens. There are a couple teams that could pick in this range that will need a RB or WR. RB/WR is thin this year and with the wage scale in place trading up for a top flight WR/RB should be easy. This trade could net us another 2nd and a 5th.
1. Dre Kirkpatrick, CB Alabama: We need a starting calibur CB for the furture. Champ will not play forever. When/if he moves to safety, we will need his replacement. Vaughn, hopefully, will take Goody's place next season and having depth can't hurt either.
2. Peter Konz, OC Wisconsin: Walton is starting to play poorly. This could be because of his endurance is lacking. It seems like his head isnt in the game as much either. Time to move on.
2. Levy Adcock, OT OKST: We need a RT badly. Tebow can't count on Franklin every snap. Franklin should be moved inside to OG and keep Beadles as OG/RT depth.
3. Kendall Reyes, DT UCONN: We need to get pressure on the QB to create turnovers. We are at the bottom of the league in turnovers. Pressure up the gut from the DT spot could go a long way in helping in the TO catagory.
4. Jonathan Massaquoi, DE Troy: Plain and simple....depth. He is a penetrating DE who could sub for Ayers on passing downs.
5. Jeffery Demps, RB Florida: This team lacks explosive players. We could use a guy like Demps on KR and in the screen game. He could be our Sproles.
5. Damarlo Belcher, WR Indiana: Pure depth and insurrance incase another injury to DT. This guy is 6-5 214lbs and runs a 4.45 .40. I really like the idea of tall receivers.
5. Jaymes Brooks, OG Virginia Tech: Again, depth along our bad OL.
Constructive critisism is always appreciated. Tear it up folks!!!
