  • MUG's Mocks - 3 Round NFL Midpoint Mock

Alright, you guys know the drill. Here is how I see the draft going as of the NFL mid-point based on all eligible underclassmen declaring, and the player's production in college up to this point, including this season. I put a very high grade on production, athleticism, and size. And I try and cross-reference previous drafts to see where players with similar size and production have gone. I also put zero weight in other draft sites because year after year, they suck until after the Senior Bowl. I enjoy projecting the players now that those sites will love then. I'll also be happy to answer and debate any prospect on my list as to their draft value. My next 3 round mock will be after the collegiate season finishes.

Remember, before you complain that your favorite player is too low, I have all eligible players entering the draft. In reality this won't happen, which will push some guys back up. The point of this mock draft is to show the draft value of the players as it stands today, in my opinion of course.

I have gone and projected the NFL final standings through my own spreadsheet. It's subjective. But, if it helps, I'm pretty good at predicting wins and losses (See: Broncomania Pick 'em).

Other than Tannehill, pretty solid draft for us. I can see us try to get a QB, but I'm not too high on Tannehill.

Also, Hightower in the late second? Isn't he first round material? A lot of other mocks have him in the late first.

I could live with the Coples pick we do need a DT that can colapse the pocket, hopefully he can take Vick's role.

I'm not sold on a QB yet, but it is looking like we will need one if Tebow keeps playing this way. I prefer RGIII but Coples is also a need so I could live with this.

And what do you think of Xavier Rhodes I know he is high on some's list but I don't see him in the three rounds, but I almost want to go CB with the first due to the aging of our corners. How big a drop off is it from Claiborne and Kirkpatrick to the rest?

      Adopted Broncos:
      (2011-2013) Eric Decker
      (2014-2018) Bradley Roby
      (2019-Current) Drew Lock

MUG, I figured you for a Kirkpatrick guy. I am also not a fan of the Tannehill pick. I would rather take RG3 in the first amd DE in the mid rounds.

BTW, I will be moving to Denver in December. How awesome is that?

I guess we'll find out how awesome you think Denver is in December moving from Florida.

                  MUG-

I'm guessing you're projecting on what you think the Broncos should do, not what they will likely do...?

You and I both know the chances of us taking a DT that early are slim to none. That's not to say it wouldn't be a good pick....you know where I'm coming from I'm sure.

^agree with him. I dot know that our FO would rather go DT than corner.

                    Is Coples even a DT?!?!,!?

Love the Tannehill pick. This kid is what a 6 foot 4 converted WR?

He's a big time athlete, he will come into the draft with only 1.5 years of QB experience, but he is a big guy who can play from the pocket, yet still has mobility.

Also I don't know if this matters, but Tannehill plays for Mike Sherman, who has some NFL experience, that never hurts.

I see a lot of potential in him, he'll be a better pro than RGIII.

Oh and MUG, what is the chance Denver takes Vontaze Bufict? Could you imagine our young explosive LB core.

Burfict doesn't fit the Broncos profile for early draft picks. I'd say there's zero chance they draft him.
