If the two best CB is gone by Denver's selection how about Zach Brown OLB from UNC to back up and someday replace DJ when the time comes. Another OLb who can run a 4.41 40 would certainly be a good addition to Denvers defense. He has had a quiet but good year at UNC.

Depends where we pick, and who's on the board.

If Claiborne or Kirkpatrick are on the board, they have to be our pick, CB is our biggest need still imo.

Then you are still talking about drafting for need and not BPA? I seriously doubt if either will be available around 15-20 range anyway. I look for Claiborne to be gone in the top 10 and Kirkpatrick short after him.

Draft the best player available at a position of need. If no top cornerbacks or defensive tackles are available. Then draft an OL, DE, or WR.

We also need OL depth & WR. We absolutely need BPA. Blackmon, Richardson, Claiborne, or Kirkpatrick would be my preferences in the first & then build the lines with the rest. I believe his first name is Von & it's not short for anything

Then you are still drafting for need. If you need a safety, you always draft who you think is the best safety out there. BPA means the best player still on the board when you draft no matter what position. With his skill set and speed, Zach Brown might be the BPA (reguardless of position) when Denver drafts. I tell you right now that someday Miller, Irving and Brown would give Denver a great linebacking for years to come.

                  So could Miller, Irving, DJ... Or Miller, Mays, DJ... Or Miller, Mays, Irving... Or Miller, Irving, Woodyard. My point is LBs don't have high value. Brown may be the most talented on the board, but that doesn't make him the most valuable to the team. If we are sitting at 15, I can see all of these guys being top 15 picks;

                  Andrew Luck
                  Matt Barkley
                  Robert Griffin III
                  Landry Jones
                  Trent Richardson
                  Justin Blackmon
                  Alshon Jeffrey
                  Michael Floyd
                  Matt Kalil
                  Jonathon Martin
                  Riley Reiff
                  Quentin Coples
                  Courtney Upshaw
                  Whitney Mercilus
                  Devon Still
                  Brandon Thompson
                  Alameda Ta'amu

                  Vontaze Burflict
                  Luke Kueckly
                  Morris Claiborne
                  Dre Kirkpatrick
                  Janoris Jenkins

That's 23 players that based on this season could be top 15 picks. Bolded are of those 23 I could see sitting at the 15th pick. And of those 11 bolded, all 11 of them would make a bigger impact on this team. LBs just dont have a lot of value, they are easy to find later in the draft and we are already stacked. You have to think of position vale when drafting BPA. How many time have the Lions drafted the best available LB? They haven't, they draft the best available skill position/pass rusher. How many times have the packers drafted the best available linebacker? None, Mathews was considered a reach and I would consider him more of a pass rusher which is needed more in a 3-4 linebacker than a 4-3. How many times have the giants drafted the best available LB? None, they draft the best pass rusher/OL/DB available. That's what BPA is. Taking the best available player at a position where you won't find anybody like him in the rest of the draft.

I can totally see Zach Brown if Woodyard leaves in FA. Brown is like Woodyard on steroids DJ's 5M salary is also borderline on value, so we may be planning for 2013 with this pick.

If we are sitting at #20 and Brown is on the board, I would not pass him up...he has Lance Briggs potential at WSLB.

You guys are really going to deep into the concept.

Best player available is what it is, taking the best player available. Drafting for need is drafting the best player available at a certain position.

                        It's a pretty simple concept.
