Gilmore worries me. I'm right here in Gamecock country, and he has the reputation among fans an alumni as one of those guys the national media loves, but close followers of the program see getting burned all the time. You ever been on the other side of one of those? A guy on your team that's getting burned, but everybody else loves him?

Happened to me with Ken Swilling and Georgia Tech. Students and fans groaned every time he got smoked, but the commentators and draft scouts loved him. (Because of his speed).

      • 2012 53 Man Roster?

        Round 1: Manti Te'o, MLB
        Round 2: Muhammed Sanu, WR
        Round 3: Cyrus Gray, RB
        Round 4: Chris Rainey, RB/WR/KR/PR
        Round 5: Jamell Fleming, CB
        Round 7: Austin Davis, QB

        UDFA 1: Chad Diehl, FB
        UDFA 2: Corey Mosley, S
        UDFA 3: Devier Posey, WR

        FA 1: Paul Soliai, DT
        FA 2: Rashean Mathis, CB
        FA 3: Jake Delhomme, QB

        Resign 1: Broderick Bunkley, DT
        Resign 2: Wesley Woodyard, OLB
        Resign 3: Dante Rosario, TE
        Resign 4: Daniel Fells, TE
        Resign 3: Ryan McBean, DT
        Resign 4: Jason Hunter, DE
        Resign 5: Matt Prater, K

        QB: Tebow; Delhomme; Davis
Tebow retains the starting role for 2012. His accuracy and throwing improve but he still only throws 15-20 passes a game and runs around 10 times a game. We surround him with weapons, giving him more options to go to. Delhomme is Tebow's veteran backup and won't have a problem as a backup. He has connections to Fox, and experience in the system. Davis is a development quarterback who can run the offense if need be.
        RB: McGahee; Gray; Moreno; Rainey
We wanted the most complex running game in the world, hear it is. McGahee is the power, Moreno is the change of pace, Gray is a mix. Rainey is a Darren Sproles, point producing type player who Tebow has played with. I believe he can be a real weapon. Along with Tebow toting the rock we will wear down defenses.
        FB: Diehl
Diehl is powerful. He can lead block for Tebow and this running game forcefully and effectively.
        TE: Fells; Thomas; Rosario; Green
We have the do-it-all vet in Fells, I believe Thomas improves his blocking and assumes the #2 TE spot, Rosario and Green are basically Fells and Thomas over again so we will be alright here.
WR: Sanu; Decker; Thomas; Posey; Rainey
Sanu is the new #1. He looks like he has what it takes to be a true #1. Decker should be #2 and he will kill defenses. With a full offseason Decker will be improved and Thomas will be 100%, hopefully. Thomas can stretch the field, and Posey could have been a #2 or #3 receiver in the NFL but the off-the-field flags leave him undrafted. Rainey is also experienced as a WR. Look at all the weapons Tebow has now. How could he not succeed?
OL: Clady; Beadles; Walton; Kuper; Franklin
This OL is gelling and will only improve. That's all that needs to be said.

        DT: Bunkley; Soliai; McBean; Warren
Bunkley is playing pretty well, and Soliai is our big FA landing. Miami can't retain him and we are willing to pay him that money, I mean, we aren't going to be paying Orton. Warren might be able to take a paycut. McBean is resigned instead of Thomas only because I think Thomas will earn more money elsewhere. Warren is depth.
        DE: Dumervil; Ayers; Hunter; Harvey
Doom is back and Ayers has been solid. Hunter and Harvey are good depth.
        SLB: Miller; Haggan
Miller is a standout SLB. Sacks and pressure, consistently. I love this kid and the way he plays the game.
        MLB: Te'o; Irving
Irving has potential but Te'o may be the answer at MLB, the one we've been missing for awhile.
        WLB: Williams; Woodyard
Williams and Woodyard are both essentially starting. They're playing good and I believe our LB corps will be one of the best.
CB: Bailey; Mathis; Harris; Vaughn; Flemming
Bailey spend his last year at CB here. We manage to sign Rashean Mathis with the money we get from Dawkins leaving and the FA's we couldn't resign. Harris plays well at the nickel and Vaughn has been solid. Flemming could be 2012's Perrish Cox. Well, that's harsh. Sexual assault compared to academic cheating. Flemming was an All Big-XII performer before he got into trouble. #2 CB in 2013?
        FS: Moore; Mosley
Moore assumes the starting FS. Offseason will help as well as the overall quality of the defense. Mosley is depth following Dawkins departure.
        SS: Carter; Bruton
Carter secures the starting SS spot. He'll be there for some time I believe. This offseason will be great for him as well. Bruton is a good special teams performer.
        P: Colquitt
One of the best punters in the NFL.
        K: Prater
A solid performer who's made some clutch kicks.
        KR/PR: Rainey
Reggie Bush or Darren Sproles back there. He'll be a spark on the team somehow.

47 Players plus 6 for depth and this could be our 53 man roster.

          • Ehh...

Not too happy to be honest.

I could live with Manti Te'o, but we don't really need a Linebacker as of right now, Mays and Woodyard are doing fine, plus we have Mike Mohamed and Nate Irving "in the oven", hopefully we can see Irving getting his first NFL starts next season. However, I think we should add at least one CB and a DT in the first 3 rounds.

Soliai would mean a big splash of money, he will be looking for a big contract, I don't think Elway is willing to do that. Delhomme, well, we might as well bring Mr. Favre back from retirement, I'd rather get Garrard. Mathis is a little too old as well. Again, I think we add a DB in the FA.

BTW You forgot about Adam Weber!
