  • Should we look at going after Hines Ward

next year if he becomes available ?

Was flipping between EPSN and NFLN and there was something about Ward probably having to restructure his contract to stay at Pitt, or become a free agent(?)

Good idea to sign him for production as well as mentoring our young receiving corps ?

I'm probably in the minority, but I would love to get Hines. He is everything we need at WR. He has veteran leadership, and can show our young WRs all of the little tricks to being an NFL wide out. He is also very unselfish, and one of the best blocking receivers in the history of the game. It is a PERFECT fit, but I doubt it will happen.

There is plenty of better options out there. Just draft a WR.

That's pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking. Plus, he would give us some additional production adding depth to the receiver corps.

we have young guys already but no veteran leadership. Ward may not be what he once was but may have a year or two to fill a role needed. I cant see him not retiring a steeler though.
