Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Eh, not crazy about this but if we could snag him in the 5th I would be fine about it. But its really Elway who will pick which quarterback HE wants to draft regardless of 1st round or 7th round talent. And I don't believe hes sold on the read-option.

I would be ecstatic if we drafted him. He is the third best QB in the draft (imo) and perfect for our offense. He is an incredible athlete. He could be our 4th WR and our back up QB.

I would be surprised if he is not drafted in at least the 4th, if not third round. He is probably projected as a 5th round pick now, but he is the type of kid who will probably be incredible at the combine. He has all the tools that the scouts look for.
I know many will groan, but I like this starting secondary:
LCB - Champ Bailey
RCB - Andre Goodman/Chris Harris
NB - Chris Harris
SS - David Bruton
FS - Quinton Carter
This assumes that Brian Dawkins retires due to his neck injury. If not, then Dawkins would start at SS, and Bruton would move to FS. I like Rahim Moore as a backup SS because his skills would be more useful closer to the line of scrimmage.
I don't believe we need to draft a CB, except perhaps as backup material, and I don't think we really need to get a safety, either. If given a chance, Bruton can develop quickly into a good safety. Love his speed and pass-coverage ability. Carter is acceptable.
He's only started one year, and already might declare? If I were him, I'd stay in college at least one more season before declaring. I don't care how good he currently is, he probably wouldn't be able to adjust to the NFL just like that.

I was wondering what you guys would favor improving more in the offseason.
Would you want a draft/FA list that leans more heavily on the offensive side in order to attempt to give Tebow some weapons and make us more of a force seeing how teams like the Pats and Packers can win relying on offense alone....
Or would you want a draft that continued to help fill in needs on defense and build a team that can make those high powered offenses take a step back?
Id give the 3rd option of being balanced but I feel that would be chosen by the vast majority. So I guess I want to see which side of the ball you guys feel needs the most work. :thumb:
After the season and during the combine I'll probably make a few mock drafts...one depicting a heavily offensive draft, defensive draft, balance, a mock draft of what I would do, and a mock of what I think will happen and then I'll truly decide what option Id take...but for now what are your guys thoughts?
As of now I would favor improving the offense over the defense by adding some weapons at WR, RB, TE (depending on who it is), and definitely a FB! any OL additions would simply be depth players in my eyes.
I think we could use some upgrades on both sides of the ball but I chose defense. On offense I think the main priorities are RB, Oline depth, and maybe a WR. However, Mcgahee should be good next year still and good ones can be found later in the draft or in FA. I think Decker and DT are a good starting duo at WR so maybe depth there too. I think TE will be fine with the young guys who will develop, imo.
Defense on the other hand needs some good starters. CB is a must, a DT is a must. safety is a maybe, unsure about Bruton or Moore as a future starter. DE is needed for the rotation. A MLB is a must but I am still hopeful that Irving will be that guy so taking one in the draft is not so important, imo.
Get Terrel Thomas and let Goody go. Then use a 4th round pick on some more depth.
Yea I'm all for replacing Goodman with a younger starter in FA. The draft is also really deep so definitely some opportunities to bring in some young depth and start planning for Champ's decline.
Use FA to address our Defense holes and the draft for Offense. The last draft was Defensive so they should change it up and go Offensive this time. Mainly adding a WR and RB in the draft.
Goodman has played pretty well this season, but I would try to get a replacement in free agency. Although, I wouldnt be too upset if he started next year.
Also, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with those safety's starting. I think we sign a veteran to start and have Moore, Carter, and Bruton compete for the other spot. Mark Barron might also be available, so we should consider drafting him.
