I personally would like to take a chance on Wilson. IF and i know it is a big IF, he can overcome his being 5'11 i think he is the second best qb in the draft...with a mid round pick it may be worth the gamble.

If we got Mario Williams, Fletcher Cox, Gilmore, James & Hilton this offseason. I would honestly cry tears of joy!!!

That would be an amazing offseason.

And for anyone who says Williams is a RDE which is the same as Doom so it wouldn't work is crazy! Any good defensive coordinator would LOVE to have that problem! Then throw in Miller, Bunkley & DJ and THAT would be an unbelievable front 7 with loads of pass rush!

williams is huge he has the size and strength to play LDE and get twenty sacks. he can play any DE on the feild and dominate.

Mario is a RDE, same as Doom. Replace Ayers and Thomas with Mario and Cox and we may have the worst run defense again.

Like James in the 3rd if still there, nice compliment piece we can use in a lot of ways. Late picks are okay, but I do not see us taking a step forward, we are rebuilding with this approach.

we've had this debate before, but the Texans, in fact, would be over the salary cap given Mario's franchise tag, Foster's tender, and the projected money spent in the draft (slotted salaries). They would have negative dollars to spend in FA, leading to people being cut, meaning the roster would thin out tremendously.

Mario Williams is not going to be franchised. CP bet if you want.

I like the mock and I agree 1000% with the idea that we need to shore up our defense while getting explosive players on offense Here are some changes to your mock that I would suggest.

1. Retain Marcus Thomas instead of Mcbean.

2. Take one of the following DT (if on the board) before Fletcher Cox (Bust written all over him IMO):

a. Devon Still
b. Michael Brockers
c. Brandon Thomas
d. Dontarie Poe

3. Retain Eddie Royal.

4.Keep Mays. Irving Not ready yet.

Other than that, I really like your mock.

Pretty good, but as said, Foster is a RFA, and they said they may just tag him and keep him for another year or trade him.

Draft is good as well.

Mario would be a plus to any team that added him, but it's highly unlikely he leaves Houston. He's a franchise player.

I wouldn't cut Goody. He's on the backside of his career but could still be a solid nickle/dime CB along with Harris. You can never have too many experienced CBs. Besides, every CB has a bad season, look at the year Revis had.

Love the Cox pick.

Gilmore coming in and starting right away is slim IMO, but it's possible. I love how physical he is and if he can learn to keep from peeking in the backfield so much, he'll be a premier CB in the NFL.

James and Hilton are just the type of weapons we need on offense. Someone who can take a short pass or hand-off and take it the distance off pure wiggle and speed.

Wilson really improved from the pocket this past season. He cut his rush attempts in half this season from his previous years at NC State. Granted he played behind one of the best OLs in college football but it showed he can be more disciplined and excel at it at the same time. Getting him in the 5th would be a steal IMO.

What I like about this mock is the ideal that the Broncos will try to land an impact free agent on defense and then follow suit with drafting defense with the first overall pick ... I would've liked the mock more if it showed a more aggressive approach along the front 7 seven especially in rounds 4-7 where the formula was WR,QB,OL

Love most of the FA pick ups. And love the idea of grabbing more picks free trading our first. But I think that draft would be horrible for us. No way we draft 3 WRs. We are young with Thomas and decker already. We will most likely sign a vet. I'd draft like this with your picks..

2a) Jayron Hosley CB/Stephen Gilmore CB
2b) Chris Polk RB
3a) Jared crick DT
3b) Sean spence OLB
4) Oline depth
5) A Kick returner
5) full back

What vet WR would want to sign with the Broncos given the run based offense and developing QB that struggles mightily with his throws? Sure if the money is right the Broncos might be able to lure a FA WR, but they'll definitely have to overpay.

like the trade down but we probably could get miamis first next year and there second this a first is worth 2 seconds at least. first next year is recuded to a second this year. each year out in trade is value is cut a round. so it would make sense and that would be awesome 2 first rounder next year manti teo and knile davis with our first two picks could complete this D and make it hard to compete against.
