  • QB prospect- Darren Thomas from Oregon

Let's face it, we are not in position to draft Luck or RG3.

We need a later round QB prospect who can run and hopefully spin it better than Tebow. In other words, we are looking at a developmental, later round prospect.

Darren Thomas declared and he has experience running the spread option.

We should also have Dennis Dixon on our radar as well if we go the free agent route.

    Thoughts?

I do not think EFX will bring in another "Tebow like" QB. Elway wants a pocket passer, not a commitment to spread option.

If Brock Osweiler is still around at #55 pick, I can totally see us drafting him as the raw but gifted QB to sit for a year and compete in 2013.

I look for this draft to be defensive minded with maybe a RB or OL to help Tebow. IMO, They will either resign Quin or sign a vet to back Tebow up and bring along the QB from the practice squad.

i dont even think thomas should have came out of college this yr. he showed some flashes but i dont see him going any higher than 5th round, and that is being generous. he would definately benefitted from going back to school. i think he is trying to get in on this weaker QB class thinking he should move up since 2 went back to school, he is a pretty raw and is a project at the next level

Why? Our defense is already one of the best in the league when they aren't on the field all game. Elway said it himself, our problem is that our Quarterback doesn't convert 3rd downs. I look for a new QB or two to be in Denver next year .

We are moving AWAY from the option people. We will run a more conventional offense this year

i just saw that the coach at oregon is probably going to sign with the bucs in wake of a scandal or infractions coming down i bet that is why he is leaving early

I've seen a lot of Oregon football and I just don't see it. He doesn't have an NFL arm, IMO. He's also not big enough to handle the pounding of being a running QB in the NFL. I would honestly be surprised if he got drafted.

                    Darren Thomas is too small.

If he's fast, he should be drafted to play special teams and fill in at receiver.

The defense isn't one of the best in the league but it will have to be if Tebow is going to be the starting quarterback. That's why they need to focus more on defense than offense.

I agree with others on here. We will not be targeting a Tebowish type QB. We will draft/sign a Pocket passer with mobility. Thank God.

No. Our defense is good when facing 23 or 32 personnel, but when we're spread out we get abused. By no means is our D near the top of the league, did you see the new England game? Unless they were winded from warm ups you have some re-evaluations to do.

So Tebow didn't go 3-out and fumble in the first quarter? I didn't see that?

Also, Darren Thomas is not an NFL Qb prospect. His best chance to make an impact would be as a gadget player how Randle El was used with the Steelers.
