Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I don't know how to embed links but I attached it. Unfortunately it seems like most of the targets I wanted are now projecting to go a good bit before we pick.
I will say I disagree with the Broncos pick of Dennard at 25 even though it fills a major hole. I think if he is still available Fletcher Cox would be a better available player while still filling a big need.
Also if they are going to go corner then I think I would prefer Janoris Jenkins to be the pick than Dennard. And they have Jenkins still available.
I think we might go after a pure passing rushing DT/DE later in the draft.
After watching the Giants this postseason, I have fallen in love with their "NASCAR" defense (all DE DL, primarily used on passing downs), they get after the quarterback. Whether it be through, around, under or over the top of the OL, they harass the QB.
Can never have too many pass rushers, as we found out the hard way this year.
Claiborne number 3 overall to the Vikings then the bucs draft Trent Richardson? I didnt even get that far and this doesnt make much sense to me.
How so? The Vikings secondary was one of the worst in the league this year. Did you not see Tebow have his best passing game of his young career against them. And alot of it was to blown coverages where DT was wide open.
Also the Trent Richardson explanation makes the pick perfect sense. Apparently you didn't read the part where he has all the tools to be the best back since AP and DMC.

I read it. But they dont need Richardson that bad to draft him there.

Agreed I would love that kind of rotation on the line. But Fletcher Cox could be a huge peice in making that. He had 14.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks last season. I just feel like it's a better pick than Dennard.
I'll admit I haven't seen a ton of Dennard but he got burned multiple times by Alshon Jeffrey in the bowl game (who a lot of people say doesn't have great speed) and I also don't like his character after the bowl game where he was throwing punches.
Claiborne pick makes sense. They had the worst secondary this season.
Idk about Trent. Probably is too high. But it's hard to mock a player for the Bucs. They need CBs but with Kirkpatricks arrest might bringhim down.
Yeah after the drug arrest Kirkpatrick fell to 14 which is the lowest these guys have ever had him. The Cowboys have proven they don't care about character issues.
Also to Shawink the Bucs dropped from the #8 rushing team in 2010 to the #30 rushing team in 2011. Although the YPC was actually better.
I do realize a lot of that can be contributed to falling way behind and abandoning the run however they still struggled alot to run consistently. So I'd say Richardson makes perfect sense for them.
Vikings secondary is garbage, Claiborne would start right away, and is gonna be a stud.
T-Rich to 5 for TB would be dumb though.
How so? Tampa had the 30th ranked rushing attack in the league last year and as stated they would already be missing out on Claiborne. Kirkpatrick would be a huge reach for them here for secondary help.

Take Blackmon if he's there.
RB's are dime a dozen, and you can find them in the 2nd round on.

I'm so sick of this argument. It's a trash argument. And you say take a receiver if he is there? Receivers are every bit as much of a dime a dozen as RB's. You could pretty much make the argument that every skill position can be filled anywhere in the draft however the top 15-20 are supposed to be elite guys that can be starters right away. RB or not Richardson is that kind of guy. It even notes how he is the best pro prospect RB since AP and DMC. Would you have passed on them?
Let's see how I feel about the Browns selections in this mock.
CLEVELAND BROWNS: ROBERT GRIFFIN III, QB, BAYLOR
The Browns have plenty of needs to address and could go in a number of directions with this pick, but if Baylor QB Robert Griffin III is available it should be a no-brainer. In fact, Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur is already on the record as being a fan of the Heisman Trophy winner. “RG3” is a dynamic playmaker with the ability to beat teams with either his arm or legs and could have the type of career that Michael Vick was supposed to. Not only is Griffin an outstanding athlete with a rare skill set for the position but he also earns high marks for his intangibles such as intelligence, work ethic and leadership ability. There are some legitimate concerns when evaluating Griffin as a pro prospect, ranging from a lack of ideal height, unorthodox throwing mechanics and the need to adjust to a pro style system at the next level, but the positives clearly outweigh the negatives. Based on the value chart that teams use it would cost the Browns their second round pick to move up a couple of spots and ensure they get Griffin, which is a relatively small price to pay for a potential franchise signal caller. Alabama RB Trent Richardson will also draw serious consideration if Peyton Hillis is allowed to leave as a free agent. Other options may include Oklahoma St. WR Justin Blackmon, who could be the go-to target that they have been searching for, or perhaps L.S.U. CB Morris Claiborne since Sheldon Brown has seen better days. However, in the end the game of football revolves around the quarterback position and the Browns simply cannot pass up a unique talent like "RG3".
Part of the first sentence is true. The Browns have needs in multiple locations. Quarterback is not one of them. Also, it is a no-brainer what the Browns should do if Griffin is available at the selection : DO NOT SELECT HIM.
Cleveland is the place where quarterbacks go to die. The coaching staff does not work with them and wants the players to fit into their system. Colt McCoy had to adjust and fit into their system and has done decent considering he had no running game, no protection on the offensive line, and nobody to throw to.
Having a 75 QB rating under those conditions is a minor miracle in itself. So, based on this draft the Browns should trade up and sacrifice everything to get a quarterback to say that they "got a quarterback" when they didn't need to "get a quarterback". That is the stupidest reason to draft a quarterback! Draft a quarterback that way you can say you drafted a quarterback?! What sort of embeciles do they think are in charge in Cleveland!!
McCoy is getting NO HELP. NONE so he is not performing up to "standard". It is absolutely no surprise! So, how can this Griffin be expected to be "Superman"? He is not Superman and is just another wasted draft selection. The Browns do not need a quarterback. The Browns need wide receivers, a running back, offensive linemen, a defensive end, an outside linebacker, and a defensive back! Not a quarterback!
Then it says: "if Peyton Hillis is allowed to leave as a free agent." Hillis is leaving, that is a foregone conclusion. But, have no fear, you don't need a running back when you have a quarterback, right?! That's the perfect situation for a quarterback, nobody to throw to, nobody to run for you, nobody to block for you, and a defense that cannot stop opposing teams. All of which putting more pressure on your shoulders - that is exactly what a rookie quarterback needs! Just ask Tim Couch!!
In the past few years Cleveland has invested not one, not two but three premium draft choices on the wide receiver position with lackluster results. Brian Robiskie was a bust and has already been sent packing, Mohamed Massaquoi has averaged fewer than 35 receptions per season and while the jury is still out on Greg Little it’s difficult to imagine him ever developing into the type of dynamic go-to target that Cleveland so desperately needs. Baylor WR Kendall Wright has always been highly thought of within the scouting community, entering the season with an early round grade, but an amazing senior campaign could lead to the explosive Mike Wallace clone being the second pass catcher off the board in April. A smooth athlete with blazing speed, Wright is exactly the type of dangerous vertical threat that Cleveland has been searching for. Also, if the Browns do opt to build around Robert Griffin III it only makes sense to reunite this prolific pass / catch duo if possible. Cleveland could also use an upgrade at right tackle, another defensive end to pair with Jabaal Sheard or a cornerback to replace Sheldon Brown. Depending on what happens with Peyton Hillis in free agency running back could be a possibility too.
Oh, great! Just GREAT. Another BAYLOR player! Why don't they change the team name to: Baylor. The Cleveland Baylors. Remember, Griffin is the answer to everything! Drafting a quarterback makes even the smallest 5"2 reciever play like Marvin Harrison. You don't need to help Griffin! He is "Superman"!
Horrible draft selections. This is the absolute worst case scenario for the Browns. Which means that the team is throwing away 10 years. DOn't worry though, I will still be alive in 10 years to see the Browns finally decide to not draft a quarterback, hopefully. I wonder what quarterback the Browns will draft next year after Griffin fails? After all, when there is a quarterback there to select you HAVE to draft that quarterback.

LOL I knew you were going to be upset about this. I do agree they don't need to draft a QB though everyone these days act like you must draft a QB top 10 if he is available. Except they don't have the Rams giving up on Bradford or the Vikings giving up on Ponder how is way worse than MCCOY IMO.
I feel it would be a great pick for them to draft Trent Richardson to get the running game for McCoy that you are referring too. Then the WR with the second pick might not seem so bad to you unless you just don't like the guy. But that would be two offensive weapons to go around McCoy. Only other receiver I could see you preferring over Wright is Michael Floyd unless you want Blackmon with the first pick.
