But if Someone were to post this as a mock a week ago they would have been crushed. The facts are that Wolfe wasnt on anyones radar at the top of the second. Mayock Kiper and any expert that you read had Wolfe way below a lot of the DT's that were still around.....Oz is a project that is going to get no snaps in games (hopefully) or practice. Manning takes all the snaps and doesnt mentor young Qbs, Hillman is another guy we took at least 1 round early. Sure he is fast which is new to us. But I bet you that he doesnt/cant beat out Moreno this season. Day 2 was better.....But still there is no doubt that we had the third worst draft in the division
If Baltimore would've had this draft, people would've said it was a very good draft. And you're wrong about Wolfe. The Ravens was going to draft Wolfe until Courtney Upshaw fell in their laps. About 2 weeks ago, Kiper had Wolfe going to Denver in the 1st rd, and i'm not sure if it was Mayock or not, but on Path to the Draft, they were also talking about Wolfe being a 1st rd pick.

Hillman was our guy, we wanted him and we went and got him. Elway said they didn't think Hillman would be there at the bottom of the 3rd, so they traded up to get him. Elway said as soon as we made the pick, teams were calling them about it because other teams wanted him.

I guess the question becomes if the FO really wants him back and the offer still stands for him?

I'd be all for it as he is young, and I think he fits the NT role a bit better than the 3T. He's a pretty stout dude, so putting him next to Wolfe might be a good tandem for at least a year to hold us over.

What are you guys thinking on the issue?
Fully agree. We didn't get a Bunkley in this draft. Thomas could start & be the perfect comment to Wolfe

He is good against the run, and their are multiple signs pointing to us running a hybrid defense. Thomas could play the nose as long as we have Peyton.

I still can't get over how potentially good a 3-4 defense we could run. Then we go get guys like Wolfe, Jackson, resign Mays to big money, if we could get a solid nose... Im getting excited

But I think it pretty telling what they think of Warren. We didn't draft a nosetackle for our 4-3 and we didn't/haven't resigned Bunk and Thomas. Maybe he is healthy?
        Good point on Warren

And you're assuming that he's only going to play 25% of the plays. My assumption actually has some merit to it seeing as how Baltimore talked to Wolfe more than any other team. Vickerson is coming off a serious injury and is even lighter than Wolfe and isn't a better pass rusher than Wolfe. Ty Warren is coming off of 2 serious injuries and hasn't played any meaningful snaps at all. Justin Banaan sucks, we already know that. Wolfe will start this year. Actually I would not be surprised at all if Wolfe and Jackson at the same time both ended up starting at some point this year.

          • Sounds like he might have FS capabilities - would that be a better fit? He's better at zone coverage than man from what I'm reading.

Every DT we have on the roster is complete trash...No doubt about that. But Wolfe is just such a liability on run downs. If MT resigns he is better. If Vick is healthy he is better, Ty well there is no way he is healthy. There is a difference between earning the starting job and having it handed to you (either like Moore had it handed to him, or by getting it through injury) So yeah they both might get a starting shot after everyone else is hurt......

Either way he is here now....Nothing we can do about it. But at the end of the season when none of our draft picks made any impact i expect you to come back and admit once again that I am right about our draft

              • I like both signings. I like the Robinson signing the most only because I think EFX had a reason behind it. Osweiler will be learning behind Mannng and he'll be doing it with Robinson. The 2 will grow together and if Osweiler does pan out to be our next QB, he'll have his favorite college target with him. Basically I feel like it was a signing to make Osweiler feel comfortable.

He would have been available in the 5th round? I guess some people really do pay too much attention to the "experts" We wanted him, and we got him. So glad that we didn't wait to see if the other teams would have been dumb like the experts and let him slide in to the 5th round. We are lucky to have him.

Incorrect... someone is just trying to be an armchair genius when he clearly isn't.

                    • If I counted correctly, ...

... the Broncos currently have their 90 for TC after signing 12 UDFAs. They could still cut someone and sign Marcus Thomas.

Right now, 9 at DT: Bannan, Garland, Jackson, Jarmon, Siliga, Unrein, Vickerson, Warren and Wolfe.

The Broncos seem to be moving in the direction of tall DTs.

If they play a split front four man line with 1 and 3 techs, it's definitely one-gap run D.

How do you know? Kiper said so? Or is it BleacherReport?

EFX thought that Hillman couldn't make it to our 3rd round pick so they moved up to Clevelands and with the phone calls they got after they made the pick they were right.

Some 3-4 team is going to get him. The Colts are reportedly going to the 3-4, so Wolfe could go to Indy in the 2nd rd, if not Indy, he won't make it past Green Bay in the 2nd. I've been saying for a while now that Wolfe is J.J. Watt and he would literally have to get busted for drugs stronger than weed in order to fall to the 4th. But boy would I be happy if he did fall.
So true. Wolfe could not be had in the 4th.

                              • It looks to me like we are moving on without him . I'm not disappointed in that. If he would sign on for one year at a good price and see what he does than I wouldn''t of minded having him back but I wouldn't sign him. Personally though if we were going to bring in a fa I'd rather have Franklin
