Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Peyton Manning is one of the most unprecedented free agents in the history of the National Football League, and as his saga unfolds the league could well be headed into uncharted territory...
2 separate contracts, Manning could give up something unrelated for ownership rights in theory.
Fortunately for the world (us), the CBA covers attempts to circumvent the cap with specific regulations against it and a general provision that covers anything not specifically mentioned. And yes, it also covers conveying a share to Archie, his dog, or me.

We have heard no contact or rumors from our end. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. They might have an issue with the ownership thing, but I am sure there is a way and they will find it.
I really wish this would end. I don't see him turning down ownership rights.
I think we should trade for Jake Locker.
We've been in talks with his agent.
And the ownership thing is NOT happening, all 32 owners would have to approve it, Schefy/Mort both said it probably won't happen.
Can't we outbid them because we have more cap room?
It's probably possible that we could outbid them if we wanted to...but I don't think anyone will match the ludicrous offer(s) of Bud Adams and that's just that...

Sure we can. Bowlen even said he would make a competitive offer. Money really shouldn't be an issue. Right now it comes down to Tenn having those connections. I still don't think he chooses Tenn

What exactly can they offer.
They have around 20-21 mil of cap room, and the ownership thing isn't happening. And that's not including rookie deals.
Can't we outbid them because we have more cap room?
In theory, yes, for this year anyway.
In reality, they could simply offer more guarantees/years than we're comfortable providing. Also in reality, since neither team is going to sign him to a one year contract equaling the amount of cap space available, the idea of "outbidding" a team based on available cap space this year doesn't really make much sense.

Yes, we can offer him more $$ if it comes down to that.
We have like 15+ more mil in cap room then they do.
So in theory... because the ownership thing isn't goingdown... We can just easily outbid them? I'm pretty sure Bowlen said he would do anything to get him.
Unless I heard wrong and he actually said "I will do anything but if that crazy fool Bud Adams comes calling them I'm going to Hawaii."
