Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Rob is a bit younger (I think ), and it's pretty likely that his back will flare up in the future. It's not if, just when.
True Rob is younger, but we really don't know the full extent of Trufant's injury. If he can pass a physical, and our doctors clear him, he'd be a big upgrade over Goodman, IMO. He never had the pass rush that we had, and Carlos Rogers showed this year that that extra half second you don't have to cover a receiver makes a big difference, more chances can be taken, and more turnovers will be created, which we should value highly this season.
For real, having Porter, Trufant, and Bailey would give us 3 corners that all have a history of creating turnovers. Throw Harris, Moore, Carter, and Adams out there somewhere (not all at once, of course), and we have ourselves some ballhawks.
Plus, signing the two would definitely sure up the corner position so that we can focus on DL and weapons in the draft.
I knew this would happen, as did a lot of other people, that FA's would flock to Denver after Manning signed. I bet anything that Porter sign's with Denver because of Manning alone.
This would be awesome, bring in Porter and maybe another FA or a 1st or 2nd pick and move Champ to FS.
FS=Champ
SS=Dawkins/Moore/Carter
CB=Porter
CB=Goodman/DP or FA
CB=Thompson
That aint too shabby of a secondary :thumb:
What the hell is up with people saying this and being fascinated by it ??...Champ is still arguably the best corner in the league why the HELL would you move him to a position of lesser importance when he's still a top2 CB without question ? It makes 0 sense
And Syd'Quan is short n was already slow pre-injury ...I personally don't think he makes it outta camp even though I really like him (very smart CB) ..he's 5'9 he can't play outside that's for damn sure
Champ is staying put ..Trufant isn't even close to what he once was and Porter is a decent corner ...no way in hell you even THINK about moving Champ ...it makes zero sense..none whatsoever ...
Not trying to snap but when I keep seeing this absolutely ridiculous crazy notion it makes me wonder what the hell is going on on this board
Should the Jets move Revis to safety if they brought in Trufant and Porter? That's how crazy the idea is
Again Champ in the playoffs ... 6 pass break-ups, should be FF n also should've had a pick but at least that was his own mess up 0 completions despite being thrown at 8x...
Like I said, arguably still the Best CB in the NFL...Why the hell would you move him??? Especially for Trufant, Porter n Thompson (who won't even be playing Chris Harris is our nickel CB), just absolutely crazy
Is this talk serious ? Porter and Trufant as our outsides with Champ playing inside. That is an awful idea. Both of these guys have huge name recognition. But both are pretty average. Porter would be a solid signing though. He is young and has shown he can play in the past. Back injuries for a 30+ year old cornerback. That is not a good idea. We just saw a rookie who was undrafted in Chris Harris have a great year. We are going to take him off the field so Trufant or Porter can play. No. That is a terrible idea. You have Champ. You have #2. Whether that is Goodman or Porter or a draft pick and then you have one of the best young nickelbacks in the league with Harris.
Champ
Porter/Goodman/Draft Pick
Harris
That is better than having Trufant and Porter.
I wouldn't mind Pacman Jones. He hasn't been in trouble and is better than either Porter and Trufant.
Champ already said in an interview this season he'd have to have a damn good reason to switch to safety. He feels like he's still a top 5 corner in the league, and I'm not sure I disagree with him. I think people need to stop with the champ to safety talk, because its not going to happen.
I'd still be ok with both porter and trufant though. Never can have enough corners.

Agreed, except the Pacman part. Unless Trufant is completely healthy with no lingering issues, I don't see him as any better than Goodman and he has no future promise like Harris.
I would have liked us to go after Aaron Ross instead of Trufant, but I just read he was signed by the Jags.
