    Manning?

I see Tamme might, might be coming here. We signed a a guy who might be as good as Royal, and some moves on D, while not retaining some guys.

I thought all these awesome FA were going to be on there way over, begging to play w/ Manning?

I'm not taking a shot, I want all the weapons we can get, but I just don't see great weapons in FA coming in, as of yet.

Who do you think we will still pick up? Are we going to trade picks away for a special player?

On a side note, we need to extend Champs play as long as possible, when do you think he goes to safety? After this year?

Most of the big names were gone by the time Manning signed including basically all of the top level WR's. That said the Broncos still have a lot left to do this offseason and there are definitely some difference makers left available. The Broncos will definitely sign at least 1 TE probably Tamme, Dressen, or Clark. They also have to sign at least 1 hopefully 2 DT's. Saturday is still a distinct possibility. They could use some depth at DE. They just signed the top remaining CB.

Saturday and one of the TEs are likely still. Saturday already had some appointments to keep, and we just met with Tamme. Have to give it a few days.

We have 8 CBs on the roster now we signed the jags 2nd leading WR in Hill. and that was with Gabbet and QB and we have Caldwell DT and Decker so we should be in ok shape there we do need a good TE specially with Green being suspended and we need DTs atleast 2 of them.

Obviously did not read the OP, or your just so tense about the situation you think this is a TT vs PM thread...

                Good feedback guys.

lol Hill, I saw when we acquired him on nfl.com and a jags fan wrote..

"I'm a huge Jags fan. Never heard of the guy."

I just thought it was funny. Manning makes players better, hopefully we will find a gem somewhere.

I have the feeling we will be trading picks for a play maker. We are in a win now mode, as far as building the O.

by the time manning signed the main weapon we wanted resigned with the colts. im sure most other recievers that are currently free agents would jump at the chance to play here we just dont want them right now.

as for dressen i think he might love the texans too much since thats the only reason i cant think of for him to contemplate a backup gig there over a starting job here.

and i think we are waiting for chad johnson or santana moss to be cut.

Of the tight ends, they need to sign Dallas Clark. He's ranked higher than Tamme and Dreessen.

I wouldn't mind seeing them sign two of them depending on how they feel about Julius Thomas and Virgil Green.

They've probably got all the receivers that they're going to get in FA, maybe they draft one in the 3rd or 4th.

They certainly need to draft a running back.

We just have to be patient. I don't think anyone really thought that it was a given that FA were going to flock to Denver just because we got Manning, although that did help us get Caldwell.

Teams are built via the draft, not free agency. You can look at the state of the Redskins to see what happens when you try you build your whole team in free agency. You can get one or two big pieces in FA, but if every year you try to plug all your holes with $50 million superstars it's not gonna work. I like what we've been doing so far, let's get Jeff Saturday, maybe Tamme or Clark, and then get some good pieces in the draft to work with in the future.

Exactly the Skins are posterchild for spending money in FA and not carrying about the draft. Though as we found out in the 90's there has to be a balance. A young team like this needs strong veteran leadership which we get through FA, however Manning made a point he likes our young receiving corps because young guys are more eager to learn a new system.

TE is hard to find we need a willing blocker who can be used as security blanket, I believe our weapons at WR may need a return man who can help stretch the field when asked, but what we have can still do those things somewhat.

Top heavy rosters are hard to mantain and they open up a lot of holes going after to many big names with big contracts actually hurts teams.

Yes, see current day Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans. How many key players have they lost this offseason?
                              Where is this season going?
