And yes, you did say exactly what I quoted. Look at your original post.
Second. Yes, I said exactly what you quoted and nothing more. You made it sound like I wanted to draft the guy based on a backflip. I never said anything like that. Stop putting words in my mouth.
He looks athletic. I don't think we disagree on that do we?sigpic

SLEEPER: QB Ryan Lindley San Diego St.
San Diego State QB Ryan Lindley completed 67-of-73 passes at the Aztecs' Pro Day despite not throwing to any of his 2011 receivers.
NFL rules prohibit underclassmen from participating in Pro Days, and all of Lindley's 2011 receivers were underclassmen after the graduation of DeMarco Sampson and Vincent Brown. Per NFL.com's Gil Brandt, Lindley "put on a show" and "should be a fourth-round pick." A favorite of NFL Films' Greg Cosell, Lindley is a smarter version of Derek Anderson with a cannon arm and ideal size.
(ROTOWORLD.COM)
We just picked up a 4th rounder from the Jets. Seems like this would be ideal. Get our DT/RB/CB in the first 3 rounds. Grab this development QB. Let him sit and watch Mannign for 3 years.

Classifying Defensive Lineman in Draft
Its pretty evident that we need help on the defensive line, but there are several varieties of defensive lineman to choose from. I'll choose to list them as Pure Pass Rusher (etc Vinny Curry), True defensive end (etc Quinton Coples, preferably with ability to kick inside), True defensive tackle (Jerel Worthy), Interior pass rusher (Fletcher Cox, very few UTs), and run stuffing NTs/DTs (Alameda Ta'amu, Dontari Poe).
Favorites on the board seem to be interior pass rushers like Fletcher Cox, and for good reason. He would be great pairing with our pass rushers and would either free them up or be freed up by them. This would also be a move to help our pass defense more than anything else.
I'm arguing that outside Cox, we should not draft an exclusive interior pass rusher, but rather a run stuffing/ true defensive tackle, and compliment him with a true defensive end with the ability to kick inside. An example of us doing this would be drafting Alameda Ta'amu in the second, and Derek Wolfe in the third. This would drastically improve our run defense, by provide a starting quality nose tackle, and depth and run stuffing ability at DE. On passing downs we can keep Ta'amu in or take him out, and move Derek Wolfe inside, where he would be a tremendous interior rusher to pair with Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil.
Not saying this is definitely how we should draft, but doing this would sure up our defensive line with a second and third, IMO.Fightin' Texas Aggie c/o '16

I like Lindley, here are my QB sleepers and mid rounders I like (my notes and grades are for my 'Broncos big board' I'm working on)
BJ Coleman – athletic, good arm strength and accuracy, needs to read the game quicker, good size – 8/10
Aaron Corp – knows route progression and is accurate, throws well on run, arm strength unproven, needs more bulk, height is good – 7.5/10
Nick Foles – good arm strength and accuracy, plays well under pressure, not very athletic, will need work on deep accuracy, 8/10, could move up board
Case Keenum – slightly under-sized which is the knock but great production, very good passer and leads receivers, 8.5/10, maybe move up but need to look into
Ryan Lindley – athletic, good arm strength, can make bad decisions as gun slinger, 8.5/10, could move up draft board
Darron Thomas – has potential, decent arm and reads game well, accurate at times but motion not great, maybe worth a UFA – 5.5/10
Russell Wilson – good arm strength, accuracy, shows good football intelligence, good in clutch, poor in senior bowl but good combine, height is very bad which drops his stock but still had very good production, - 8.5/10, need to look into height before moving up boards

Alameda Ta'amu. Not a pure run stuffing defensive tackle and not a one dimensional player. Yes he is big but he is athletic and can move. He can collapse the pocket and is very strong. Can also split the gap well and is solid against the run. Not as great as his size would suggest though.
A pure run stuffer is someone like Josh Chapman. Possible 4th round pick. Played on messed up knee in 2011 and was still great against the run. He is great at it. Is very limited as a pass rusher however he is one of my favourites in the class. He is stout and has that natuaral leverage. When he gets his feet into the ground and sets he is not moving. He is hard to move and would be great to get in the 4th round. He is coming off of a torn ACL however he played on it and still produced what he produced in 2011.
Defensive Tackle is a glaring weakness on the team. However I think with what we have tried to do in the last two free agencies with offering a contract to the top defensive end free agent in 2011 in Charles Johnson and then showing interest in John Abraham I think we will try to address it. Whether that is with a pure pass rusher to put across from Dumervil in a guy like Vinny Curry.
I would love a draft of:
1: DE-Vinny Curry
Add to the pass rush. Not great against the run however would be an upgrade over Ayers as a situational pass rusher and also he is decent against the run.
2: DT-Alameda Ta'amu
Well rounded player. Can collapse the pocket and can play the run. Has big upside and if he can get his conditioning fine he will be a much more consistant player.
3: WR-Joe Adams
Can be our full time return man. He can also be our 4th receiver and play a big role on the team. He can be useful out of the backfield and in the slot. He would add another dimension to the offense with his eplsoivness and speed.
4: DT-Josh Chapman
Pure run stuffer who could really impact the team in a run stuffing role from day one. He would be a nice player to develop to have and replace Bunkley's run stuffing abiltiy down the road.
I still think we need to go and get a defensive tackle or two in free agency. Young defensive tackles usually do not contribute early on. There are exeptions like that of Marcel Dareus who was the elite prospect at the position and had a great first year and also guys like Jurrell Casey.
Bringing back Marcus Thomas and getting Amobi Okoye would be great. I don't expect too much from Vickerson or Warren. Warren is out of football for two years. Both due to injury. And he is over 30. And Vickerson was not great at the start of the year. Marcus Thomas coming in really improved the position and steady our defense.
Marcus Thomas------Amobi Okoye
Josh Chapman-------Alameda Ta'amuLast edited by johnlimburg; 03-26-2012, 05:26 AM.

I know. Just saying that as a lot of people seem to think this is the case. Also I thought when you said run stuffing you were also implying this also. No worries. Just due to size and it has happened all the time people just think he is all size and run stuffing. Nothing more. Just making sure it was clear.

I really see Elway lobbying hard for Osweiler, Lindley, or Coleman. To me they seem to be exactly what he wants in a developmental QB. All of them have borderline elite QB traits, they just need a lot of work before they can compete in the NFL. I think Osweiler goes late 2nd or earl 3rd, and Lindley and Coleman don't make it out of the 4th round.
