Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Are we rebuilding? Why would we not want 1 or 2 guys ready to play vs 4-5 development guys?
If anything, I see us moving up twice and getting the best quality guys for our window of opportunity with Manning as possible. taking 3 years to develop DTs just does not seem like the plan right now.

I'm not knocking your opinion because we very well can move up. But who exactly would you trade up to get?

David DeCastro would be one guy - He can play C (3rd rated in country when recruited) and can play both Guard spots. We have no idea if Kuper will be ready, and David may be the best interior OL guy to come out in a while. Replacing Beadles or Walton is a possibility, and would vastly improve our pass protection.
Elway had a great OL to finish up with two rings, find it suspicious we have not brought any in. Maybe he has an eye on 1 or 2 in the draft.
Melvin Ingram is another guy who could be an instant nickel guy to get the QB, able to play inside or out, hand in the dirt or standing up...seems like a Karl Mecklenburg type guy.
Michael Floyd or K Wright, yes we signed Andre Caldwell, but he is more of a slot guy (despite speed), having DT and Floyd/Kendall outside and Decker/Caldwell inside, gives us great depth at the position.
As I have mentioned, Warren, Vick, and McBean look like our gameday actives at DT and if we sign 1 vet to compete with the group, someone is already headed to inactive list. Doubt any rookie breaks onto the active roster without injury. Just do not see us trading down for development guys.

I'd love to draft DeCastro. He's my favorite O-lineman in the draft.
Ingram would also be a good pick, but I don't want any part of the "Nascar" package. I'd prefer to draft some DTs that can get to the QB.
K. Wright has grown on me lately. But with the addition of Jason Hill and Caldwell, I just don't see it. I'm not saying it won't happen, I just can't see it. I'm also expecting a good season from Matt Willis.
I'm not confident that Warren will make the team. Vickerson and McBean will probably be here. Warren, Vickerson, and McBean are all in the last year of their contracts. I can see us adding 2 DT this year to prepare them to take over next year.
I guess we see things a little differently. I don't think just because you trade down, you're getting "Developmental Guys"
Honestly the only trade down that I think will happen is Our first for a third and a 2013 #1......Trading back is all fine and good, and stockpiling picks is the sexy thing to do......But it doesn't often work out of the team dropping back. Look at NE they are always sliding down and getting more picks. But look at the garbage that they end up with. With our teams track record with picks having more picks is just more error to be made. Sometimes the best move is to stay put and take the guy that is rated higher cause he is just a better player
Thanx Blondie79 for the sweet Sig....Love it and I will rock it with pridesigpic
Where were we on this one? This guy was taylor made for this D.....But the one that really makes me mad is that we didnt give up a 4th for Demeco Ryans......WTH......That was the move to make right there

I would trade down and get....
2) Stephen Hill WR
2) Brandon Thompson DT
3) Derek Wolfe DT
3) Josh Robinson CB
4) Denario Davis OLB
5) Greg Childs WR
6) Travis Benjamin WR
If this were our draft i'd be extatic. Imo we're all set at RB esp if we get steart. Even if we dont I strongly believe Knoshon is gonna have a breakout year with manning and I think fannin could be ridiculous in it as well. The only player I havent seen much of is robinson and im going by mayocks analysis and what i saw at the combine and his media day interview(seems like a good dude). Some may be thinking 3 reciever??!! But I love everything about all 3 of them. Hill could really be like megatron. Hes a true #1 imo... Benjamin is the next djax imo(without the attitude) and Childs was on trackcarter to bethe a first rounder prior to his injury and hes just starting to get his legs back and is going to be a steal! Id only keep DT and Decker of our current wr corps and i am NOT sold on decker...wolfe is a BEAST! Ive seen him play a bunch and I would be thrilled if he were a bronco. Thompson is another beast! And denario really impressed me in the only game i watched him play i think it was a bowl game against niu.

I don't blame trading down for their lack of talent. For years New England had a core group of players/leaders that was their foundation of their team. They had Offensive and Defensive Coordinators that was good at what they did.
New Englands biggest problem to me is, with all the picks they aquire, they rarely trade up to draft somebody worth wild. The other problem is they never like to spend money. So because of that, you lose the Samuels and Semours of world. And they look more to Free Agency to sign good players for next to nothing so they can get a ring.

I completely agree with you on NE...you would think just once they would stockpile those picks they keep accumalating to trade up and get a stud!
If the DT's available at 25 were not all that similar as the second rounders I would agree...but with the exception of Cox, how far apart are the next tier DT's?
"He's going to be the #1 receiver, and is going to be a star in this league for a long time" Todd Mcshay on Jerry Jeudy

You are talking FA....I am talking the draft.....Every year they acquire extra picks and every year they blow the selections. Especially in the second round......Stay put and get the talent. Dont fall back and watch 2 picks fail. We have a hard enough time drafting quality players....

Well that is the thing.....I dont think the DT that we are going to get at 25 is that much better than what we would get in the 2nd. Besides you dont take the 5th best at a position when the 1st best MLB or 2nd best CB is still on the board........I think that this draft is a really good one for us to ditch our 1st round pick and get a second 1st next season. That way we can get a big time stud to fill a hole
