I consider him much more talented than Marcus Thomas.
The guy just didn't get a lot of football experience before coming into the NFL. He's 24 years old and already has 5 years of football under his belt. The dude got drafted when he was 19.

They have been saying that for 4 or 5 years now.

I believe he still has yet to reach his potential, and would love it if we were to sign him. Also, it would be kind of cool to see him and Dumervil reunited on the DLine again.

The Buccaneers are in the market for help at defensive tackle and their first choice is Amobi Okoye.

Okoye isn’t likely to return to Chicago, but he isn’t a sure thing to wind up in Tampa either. While Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Okoye is interested in the Bucs, they are competing with the Broncos and Bengals for his services. Their choice might be Okoye, but they aren’t sitting around twiddling their thumbs while he makes his decision.

He did say he is not a pass rusher (yet), but if all else was accurate, I wouldn't sweat that.

So.......I for one saw it on the football network.
Thanks for having my back lol jk but good post.

Oh, well I strongly disagree with Charley Casserly on this one. Not sure how he could consider a 1-year wonder a safe pick.

All of the usual caveats apply with grading this redshirt sophomore as a potential first round pick. He only has one season of dominant play, was surrounded by a great deal of talent and experienced his success on a defense that helped Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson earn top five grades that frankly neither has played up to at this point.
His talent and potential are the only reason he'll go in the 1st round. But I've read countless draft profiles that say Michael Brockers is extremely raw.

Defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, a first-round pick of the Texans in 2007, has another new home. A year after joining the Bears following his release from the Texans, Okoye now is a member of the Buccaneers.

The Bucs and Okoye has agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com.

A four-year starter in Houston, the Texans decided to move on when switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. In Chicago’s Cover 2 defense, Okoye appeared in 16 games, with one start.

In Tampa, he’ll join a rotation that includes Gerald McCoy, Brian Price, John McCargo, Roy Miller, and Frank Okam.

This board keeps salivating over players at DT that the entire league of GMs don't think are worth that much. There's a reason this guy is moving on to his third team in five years.

                      Lol @ Tampa.

Frank Okam, John McCargo, Amobi Okoye, Brian Price.. they have quite a few lineman that were complete busts..

Gerald McCoy ain't that good either. They're in rough shape.

And let that be a lesson to all you guys out there.. the Bucs have 3 first round pick DTs, a second, and a 5th. And they still have a weak unit.

Very good observation.......with few exceptions, I would not pick a DT early......they take too long to develop and are definitely not a guarantee to become good starters.

If you want immediate impact, stay away. Save your early picks for other positions.

Using a 1st on a DT is not a good decision 9 times out of 10. Especially late in the 1st.
