  • Defense vs Offense with 1st pick?

If there's already a similar thread I'm sorry, I've been away for a week.

But there's a lot of specualtion that we go offense with the first pick.

    Options:
    Peter Konz C
    Stephen Hill WR
    Kendall Wright WR
    Doug Martin RB

But we really want to stack defense as well.

    Options:
    Devon Still DT
    Mark Barron S
    Dre' Kirkpatrick CB
    Michael Brockers DT
    or Best Defensive Player Available.

Just curious to see which way Bronco Country thinks we go.

Again, sorry if there's already a similar thread.

Defense, we already filled most of our offensive needs in FA, but depends who is available.

The smart move would be best player available. I think that the D talent is going to go quickly and we are going to have a shot at a G or WR that are going to grade out much higher than the D player available
Thanx Blondie79 for the sweet Sig....Love it and I will rock it with pridesigpic

        I think it's 50/50 for DT/RB

All things equal meaning two players of equal skill/grade I would sooner go with a defensive player as the need is greater.
That being said best player BPA.

I could not agree with this any more, perfectly put.

Defensive BPA..........I can't see any O player falling into our laps that we need as much as one of a few D positions. If the right DT, CB, LB fall into our laps, I say go for them.

But I sure like an RB in round two or three, pending us getting a DT in rounds one or two.

Best defensive player available in first two rounds would be great

I think it really depends who is available at our pick, but I would prefer defense.

BPA. Anything else will lead to a bust, as many late first rounders do.

Need defensive stength and depth up the middle. We lack legit starters right now. Gotta give ourselves the best shot at a starter on D.
Hate List for 2016-2017 Season: 1. Oakland, 2. New England, 3. Kansas City, 4. Pittsburgh and 5. Houston (yes, Houston....)

Hard to say even if we go BPA let's say the beat available plays the same position as Von, you don't take em. Too many factors to say, but let's say a tie of BPA for O and D and each has equal importance to us, you go D and don't look back. Defense wins championships.

Well they could play opposite von or rotate all around. Anyone that can make a difference from the start would be great

I do agree, but we've filled a few holes in free agency on offense, and still have some on defense.

On offense, i'm not sure if there is anyone i'd take over a defensive player unless someone like TRich or Blackmon fell which is doubtful.

That would be a disaster if we had to rush LBs on the field at the same time. Like I said you want guys who can play, but not at positions we already have guys that won't be an upgrade.
