I see in a lot of peoples mock drafts they have us drafting a qb anywhere from the second to the fifth round. Please kill the idea of drafting a qb this year with fire. With Manning signing for five years it is too early to draft a franchise qb. We already have two back-ups, we don't need another fighting for reps. What if Manning goes down? We're screwed regardless. But if Manning does get hurt then we should be in position to draft a quality qb. Besides after this year, how many teams will be in need of a qb? Next year we should be able to get a better quality qb than we can this year and for cheaper to boot.

We don't necessarily need to make it a priority this year, if the right guy is available in the mid-late rounds, fine. It might even make a certain morbid kind of sense to wait and see what happens with this season. Peyton might not have the mojo anymore, he might go down early in the season. We might be able to "suck for Barkley" if either of those things happens. But mid-late round picks are mostly project players anyway. Whether we get a 4th round QB or a 4th round CB or WR probably won't make much difference to a Superbowl push.

It's more likely we take a QB in this years draft, than us drafting a DT.
Expect us to draft a QB, the only thing signing Manning did, was make us draft one in the late rounds.
Nick Foles in the 4th or Kurt Cousins in the 5th. We're gonna draft a QB, I highly doubt(I pray that we don't) have faith in Caleb Hannie to step in if Manning gets hurt.sigpic

Weber could be our #2 and I fully expect they will draft a QB in the mid-later rounds.sigpic

I wouldn't mind if the Broncos draft a QB in this years draft ... However I'm 50/50 either way ... I see the upcoming draft like being a kid in a candy store and the rich now with Manning getting richer with whatever position they draft ...:logo: :logo: :logo: :logo: :logo:

I think Osweiler would be a nice project behind Manning, but he is probably going to be drafted too early when all is said and done. The Broncos made a big move going after Manning, and now they are all-in with him. Put the pieces around Manning and go get that Super Bowl. If that's the mentality, the Broncos could leave the draft without a quarterback. It's awful to have Caleb Hanie as the backup option, but we have "plan A" which is Peyton Manning. He must stay healthy. With or without a rookie quarterback, the team's success this year will depend on Manning's health. I thought they would be able to re-sign Brady Quinn, he would have been an ideal backup. A 4th-5th round quarterback probably won't be the future of the franchise anyway, so I can see the Broncos skipping a quarterback to build a better team around Manning.sigpic

Kellen Moore
Throughout Kellen Moore's career he has completed 69.7 percent of his passes. Andrew Luck has completed 65.6 percent. Both are very accurate, especially in the red zone.
One thing that distinguishes Moore as more accurate is that he has done it his whole career. Moore has had a completion percentage of 65 percent or more each year he has played. Luck, in his first year as a starter, completed just 56.3 percent of his passes.
Both are very accurate, but Moore was ultimately more accurate and was accurate for longer stretches of time than Luck. And in the NFL, accuracy is everything. By Nathan Palcowski Bleacherreport.com This kid is way underrated and we can get him late in the draft. Read the entire article.

If he is on the board in the 6th round, and we have not drafted a QB earlier, then I wouldn't mind draft him.
People say he has a noodle arm, so he would have to work on his arm strength.sigpic

I think any QB who is brought in will have a great opportunity to learn under two of the best to have played the game. How would you like to go to practice with two hall-of-fame quarterbacks giving you advice?
Manning will be a great mentor because he knows his job is safe for the next couple of years and knows part of his job is getting the next guy ready for when he retires.
Elway will play a bigger role in developing a QB. I think he would have done this with TT had he not gotten traded.
I think everyone knows we are playing on borrowed time with Manning (2-3 years). That is fine as long as the next guy up is prepared and has a few years to learn from two of the very best.sigpic
