  • ESPN v. NFL Network

Which do you watch for NFL Draft coverage and which in your opinion is better? I usually watch ESPN but am curious which my fellow fans watch.

I forgot what channel chucky is on, but I normally watch him. I hate the guy with the huge hair problem.

Gruden is on ESPN, I believe the person you are referring to is Mel Kiper.
      Nobody likes Mel.

As for the topic at hand.

I watch both, mostly ESPN. Better insight, better analyst, quicker information.

ESPN for draft coverage. 24/7. Don't really care for many of the analysts on NFL Network. Really the only thing I watch on NFL Network is actual games.

That being said I'm not a big ESPN fan anymore either. I never watch Sportcenter. Just Draft and actual live games.

What annoys me is the recent trend of Schefter or La Confora telling us the picks before they happen.

I used to love going through the first round not knowing the picks until they were announced on the podium (except people in the green room)

The ESPN analysts are more honest about their opinions. They don't dance around to attack a bad selection according to their opinion. They say negative things about the prospects. Jon Gruden is the exception, probably because he is a former head coach and tries to keep a good relationship with the teams and active coaches. But Gruden is very funny and he brings a lot of energy to the event. He also knows a lot of football. The analysts from NFL Network are all politically correct and positive about everything. The sun is always shining to Mike Mayock, probably because he also has a relationship with front offices around the league. The draft coverage from NFL Network is really clean, while ESPN can provide some heated arguments between the analysts.

That's why i don't go on twitter during our pick, everyone knows who it will be so i'll just wait and see.

I don't go on twitter, on TV they always flash to someone who tells us the pick.

That actually doesn't bother me. I don't have to wait till the exact moment the pick is announced. Just as long as they aren't announcing the next pick while someone else is still on the clock.

I usually watch... both. Switch back and forth depending on who's talking. Some of the guys I can't stand.

I like NFLN the best because of Mayock and Eisen. ESPN just bugs me in about everything they do. Gruden is awesome but other then that I think the rest of them are schmucks.

I like NFLN. Mayock is good and often nails the hard, off the wall picks. I also like Charles Davis quite a bit. Davis is the most under rated draft guys around, imo.
