well all of this is a matter of opinion. but unfortunately when it comes to numbers and stats (which i don't necessarily like to use, but obviously a lot of people on here and on radio shows and sports shows etc do) no one touches Kellen out of the group of QBs mentioned.

and one stat really stands out above all others, which matters the most and can't be ignored: 50-3 (where the 3 losses were by a combined 5 points).

If you like to run the ball a lot or have a QB that can scramble, sure, pick up little Wilson. But if you'd like a QB that can tell what the defense is doing before his own team's defensive coordinator... and then pick that apart, you probably want to take Kellen.

some things are opinion, but even opinion has a starting point someplace. in this case, mine is based in facts

I mean we're not even arguing Luck or RGIII vs Kellen here... we're talking about guys like Lindley and Osweiler (who both lost to Boise State mind you) and some other no-names I've seen since... and Cousins. Even some guys on ESPN and NFL Network wonder why Cousins' stock is rising.

It'd be neat if anyone could bring something to this argument that didn't involve height or arm strength, which clearly is not a death sentence at the next level for certain.

His deep ball flutters, he has no drive in his post throws, and no velocity to speak of.

That, combined with his size, it wouldn't surprise me if he went undrafted.
Oh but don't they flutter through the air beautifully?

I know you're just trying to get me all riled up Corey, but I'll use it anyway since several people have said the same things.

I'm not sure why no one understands this. Gruden understood it. He even stated it.

    Accuracy>>>>>>Velocity/Power.

I would take accuracy over someone who can throw an 80 yard ball with ease and make it look like a rocket.

Kellen won't throw those deep passes unless he knows his receiver is the only guy with the chance. I think I even said that same thing in THIS thread already.

People are way too worried about whether he can throw a deep ball (which he proved over and over during his career, none more obvious than the perfect pass to Titus Young against Nevada to set up the 26 yard field goal.

It's hilarious to me how people conveniently leave all of those passes out.

"Oh but in the NFL that pass would've been picked..." Really? You're telling me a corner or a safety can jump far enough ahead of the receiver or high enough to get to that ball that's thrown out ahead of said receiver before that receiver gets there? Get real. That's the difference. He doesn't need to throw it 103 mph (like Gruden said) because he knows how and where to place the ball. It doesn't matter if it takes 20 seconds to get to the receiver. If the defender can't get there... he's not intercepting it.

The real problem for Kellen is that he overthrows more often than he under throws (which would be a problem for someone with no arm strength right?). Every time Kellen overthrew someone in the past four years I would always say: "Oh man... I just wish he had a bit stronger arm so he could have gotten it to that recei--oh... no people with weak arms don't over throw their receivers..."

But really, it's better to have a QB that knows to over throw, where only his guy can get a chance rather than under throw it and increase the probability of an interception. Yet another aspect of heads up play by Kellen. If his guy can't get it... no one else will be able to either.

Anyway... most of that was directed at everyone Cory lol. I know how you really feel about him... you just can't say anything in public

Oh, I hope that Boise offense works out in Texas... heheh.

Also, not that I hope he goes undrafted, but if he does and Denver signs him... even better. Regardless of who signs him if this happens, it'll be a bigger steal than Brady was. He'll be able to tell a team the same thing Manning told the Colts: "If you don't draft me, I'll kick your ass for the next 10 years."

I'd rather he stay in a Bronco uniform and shred other defenses than go to some other team and shred OUR defense his whole career whenever he plays us.

Finally...someone who truly understands the importance of arm strength in the NFL...and why its not all about strength.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Andrew Luck scored a 37 on his Wonderlic Test, while Robert Griffin III scored a 24.

24 is considered the league average by Wonderlic score historians. Luck's Wonderlic result was nine points higher than his predecessor, Peyton Manning's. Blaine Gabbert scored a 31 on the Wonderlic last year, and there has never been any indication that the test is an indicator of future NFL performance.
