  • The Defensive draft

Well its easy to see our D is still terrible, and its time we fixed that. Luckily I see us losing to NE, SD, NO, Cinncy, Balt, and probably one more team we have no business losing to, I bet we lose to freakin Brady Quinn finishing 7-9. Anyhow I see us picking around 14, and that's good news. We are incredibly incredibly weak in the triangle of the D, IE the DTs/MLB. So let's fix that:

    FA:
    Re-sign Clady
    DT Terrance Knighton
    DT Sammie Lee Hill
Re-sign Vickerson, the only DT to do anything

    Draft:

14: Manti Te'o MLB Notre Dame, Simply an upgrade over Mays in every single possible way. Can tackle, cover, intelligent, and can be a leader.

46: Kenny Vaccaro S Texas, upgrade over Mike Adams, reminds me of Ryan Clark

78: Tervardo Williams OLB UCONN, athletic pass rushing LB, would bring athleticism to the D

110: Connor Vernon WR Duke, an sure handed receiver; how sure handed? Just set the ACC record for receptions

142: Montee Ball RB Wisconsin, after a stellar junior campaign this season has been marred with awful o-line play and injuries, if he slides snatch him up.

206: Ray Ray Armstrong S "kicked off Miami", athletic with character concerns, a gamble but could be worth it.

Rivalry game plain and simple, basically we play a good QB the D folds like a lawn chair.

Are Roethlesberger or Palmer not good?

While I agree we have much improvement to do, I disagree with the latter statement.

We nearly won this game with 3 key TO's that would of lead to points.

And this is one of the best O's we'll see all year, on the road no less.

I agree that i'd go HEAVY on D next year, especially in the Front 7.

Palmer is average at best, the Steelers lack of RBs, Harrison, and very injured O-line won us that game.

I expected us to lose, but I have to say our LB corps for the first time looked well organized last week (though we did play one of the worst teams in the NFL). A big reason why we lost is that Brookings leadership up the middle wasnt there. I cant believe im saying this but I think he should start. I dont see us losing to Cincy or NO at least not yet so i cant say the sky is falling but I think what we put on the field today could be a lot better.

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda. Defense is still terrible, yes terrible can't get off the field. 35 1sts seriously? You won't beat an above average team with this D, no matter who is at QB.

Anything that involves Te'o and Knighton has my vote. I would rather have Gillislee than Ball as well.

Da'Rick Rogers WR is also on my radar. He is a big, strong, explosive guy getting early comparisons to Julio Jones.

35 first downs against one of the best QBs of all time and still came rallying from behind. The point I'm making is that we're not a 7-9 team.

Last year we were an 8-8 team that got blown out by the same team we lost to by 10. Last year they wouldn't have got 35 first downs because they would have scored rather than moving the sticks.

Can't stop the run and can't stop the pass, we could very well be a 7-9 team that's the point I'm making.

This is arguably the best O we'll see all year.

How many teams can lineup Lloyd, Welker, Branch, Gronk with Ridley/Bolden and others running it, not very many on the schedule except maybe NO and a few others.

                        Pats have an amazing offense/team.

And have very good running game to go along with it. I'm sold now.
