I have come back to eat my crow. I was wrong, and spoke hastily about the team. I underestimated the teams potential and speed to reach it. We haven't hit our ceiling yet, and we beat a good Ravens team on the road in an impressive fashion. I was wrong in my predictions, and am ready to take my lumps and apologize to anyone who wishes it.

You cant crown them anything, they havent beaten anyone. Although the argument could be made the almost beat Hou with Jason Campell.

Their D held them to 13, and in terrible field conditions.

We havent beat a complete team. We have one more "complete" team on the roster in Balt. If we beat them, we can say we are a top tier team. Also, other than NO it wasnt until the end of the game that we took substantial leads. Cinncy flirted with a comeback until the D stepped up, and we were down big at the half against SD. You wont beat elite teams that way.

Yes personal mistakes have what cost this team wins mostly but when we play disciplined football we are one of the best teams out there. We have beaten Pitt, and they have actually had more injury issues since they played us but have been a good team, Cinci is an average team as is SD but we still beat them. We may not be better then a beaten up Baltimore team, but

We are better then an Indy team that got crushed by they Jets, beaten by Tennessee and Jacksonville
We are better then SD, Miami, and Cinci

That at least makes us the 4th best team in the AFC.

The Giants couldnt be Pit or Cinci
If we beat Tampa Ild say we are at least better then the Vikings
The Seahawks have road troubles and are only good when the stadium designed for volume is in their favor.
So that leaves with 3 or 4 teams in the NFC that can be considered better then us at best.

So we are at least the 8th best team in the NFL which means we are at least in the mix.

According to you we wouldnt beat a team like Cinci or NO because we werent elite, yet we did. We held a top tier offense to its lowest season total, and we destroyed Cinci at home (though as i explained that was easier then it sounded but you refused to believe we could do either let alone both).

We are getting better each week, and I consider being the 5th or 6th best team in the NFL elite

Besides we are getting DJ back which should make us a better team, if he doesnt ruin the cohesion.

They've played two elite teams in GB/Hou and lost, both..

And SF on MNF, so we'll see there.

We had a chance at the elite guys, and fact is we lost. We get another crack at a good team against Balt. we havent beat a good team, we've been beating middle of the pack ones. You can't say we are an elite team until we beat an elite team.

Look man, I won't have a go at you for the thread. We all post things in anger. I posted a thread after the Houston loss saying we were terrible and its the same rubbish once again.

but if you're still not happy NOW, with Vegas having us as tied 3rd favorites for the SB then you will never be happy.

Well its easy to see our D is still terrible, and its time we fixed that. Luckily I see us losing to NE, SD, NO, Cinncy, Balt, and probably one more team we have no business losing to, I bet we lose to freakin Brady Quinn finishing 7-9. Anyhow I see us picking around 14, and that's good news. We are incredibly incredibly weak in the triangle of the D, IE the DTs/MLB. So let's fix that:

14: Manti Te'o MLB Notre Dame, Simply an upgrade over Mays in every single possible way. Can tackle, cover, intelligent, and can be a leader.

46: Kenny Vaccaro S Texas, upgrade over Mike Adams, reminds me of Ryan Clark

78: Tervardo Williams OLB UCONN, athletic pass rushing LB, would bring athleticism to the D

110: Connor Vernon WR Duke, an sure handed receiver; how sure handed? Just set the ACC record for receptions

142: Montee Ball RB Wisconsin, after a stellar junior campaign this season has been marred with awful o-line play and injuries, if he slides snatch him up.

206: Ray Ray Armstrong S "kicked off Miami", athletic with character concerns, a gamble but could be worth it.

Love the Te'o pick being Hawaiian myself, that being said he is an excellent football player and even a better person. A win win for broncos.

With the Vaccaro pick are you giving up on Quincy Carter or just not sure of his injury? Or are you considering him more of a FS?

Well...

We beat NO, who ended up beating Atl who was unbeaten. Also, holding THAT offense to basically 7 points is pretty damn impressive.

Beat Cincy who whooped the SB champs.

And NE, Hou, Atl were all early in the year, play them now and i like our chances to win at least one of those games.

And can only play who is on your schedule.

Denver, IMO is a good team right now but not a great team yet. If we keep coming together as a TEAM we may be a great team by playoff time. Remember, we beat NO and they turned around and beat a good Atlanta team, we beat Cincy at home and they turned around and beat the Giants the next week. As I said before, we are not great but we are getting pretty dang good! lol
