Stepfan Taylor looks like he could be a really good RB in the future. Ever since Willis McGahee cost us the game against New England, I've been contemplating about Taylor. Even with Andrew Luck's presence, Taylor has performed very well. Taylor has good patience and will read his blocks. He has some breakaway speed and elusiveness to get to the third level of the defense easily.
    Consider this:

As of Week 8 in College Football, Taylor has 846 yards and 6 TDs on a 4.8 yards per carry (7 games played)

A four-year RB, Taylor has 3,616 rushing yards in his career to go with 33 TDs. His sixteen 100-yard rushing games is tied for second place in school history.

Now, how will he fit into our offense? Willis McGahee, realistically, has about two or three good seasons left. It's better now than never to draft a RB in the 3rd round that can carry a workload. Ronnie Hillman looks like he has a bright future, but is only a threat in the open space. Hillman should be used in passing situations or 3rd down. I really wanted Knowshon Moreno to succeed, but he hasn't. Moreno should be gone before April. Lance Ball looks like a reliable option to fall back on, but isn't a legitimate threat to the opposing defenses. Stepfan Taylor looks like a great feature RB, considering Stanford's "Life after Luck" situation. Taylor has exactly 696 carries in his career to prove that. Taylor has been able to rush for 153 and 102 yards against USC and Notre Dame, which proves that he can have success against tough defenses. The only concern I have with Taylor is his will to score at the goalline. Stepfan Taylor couldn't penetrate Notre Dame's defense and score a game-tying TD. Plus, Taylor had four downs to try to get in the endzone. Eric Decker is the perfect example of the WILL to score. Against San Diego on MNF, Decker literally plowed through five Chargers to score.

In conclusion to my over-analysis of Taylor, I believe a 3rd round pick to select Taylor would be a great bargain. DeMarco Murray was a 3rd round pick. Stevan Ridley was a 3rd round pick. Shonn Greene was a 3rd round pick. Jamaal Charles was a 3rd round pick. My point is, Stepfan Taylor could be that great RB.

I'd prefer Montee Ball in the 3rd. After that it's a toss up between Gillislee and Taylor for me.

I would rather wait and hope Ka'deem Carey comes out next year.

Liked him a lot last year and this year as well, though after watching Southern Miss for Jamie Collins Im starting to think of Desmond Johnson, whose a similar back but who can be a bit more explosive. I also like Michael and Randle

I agree. Joseph Randle is very good too. Randle is another underrated RB because of Justin Blackmon's aura over Oklahoma State. Randle always finds a way to grow in production year-after-year. I don't know if Randle will come out this year. Randle could wait this year and possibly be a 1st round pick in 2014. My question is if Randle is ready for the NFL.

RB is a need for the Denver Broncos, one of the three on O (RB, C/G, WR).

Stepfan Taylor fits the Bronco job description well. He plays well in an offense that translates well to the NFL.

NFLDraftscout currently has him as the 2nd RB, but if/when Lattimore, Graham, Davis, Randle, etc. come out, he will move down.

IDK if ElFox will trade down again or use the first rounder. If they draft a first rounder will it be RB, or a defender (i.e., MLB or CB).

If the pattern continues, Fox will select Marcus Lattimore. I cross my fingers that doesn't happen, though. Lattimore was alarmingly underwhelming against Florida (though he was hurt) but wasn't great against LSU. If Lattimore can't be productive against SEC defenses, then how is he going to be a successful NFL RB? Even Knowshon Moreno was productive against the SEC. On top of that, Lattimore is coming off a torn ACL, so there is that injury "flag" applied to him.

I hope that John Fox will use that 1st round pick on an MLB or CB (Manti Te'o or Johnthan Banks) then in the 2nd round use it on whatever we didn't pick in the 1st (Arthur Brown or Carrington Byndom). In the 3rd round, Taylor would fall to us. A great bargain!

Lattimore had 3 carries against Florida, you can't say he was underwhelming. Aside from LSU he's dominated every other SEC team he played this year. Just because someone is successful in college doesn't mean they'll be good in the NFL, but it also works the other way as well, Terrell Davis is the big example that comes to mind. But Lattimore has been a force in college football. Lattimore is 6th in career rushing TDs in the SEC and that's with having missed half of last season and playing through injury this season. Lattimore is a baller.

Is his name really Stepfan? That's like someone's parents got married and their kid become a fan of their stepparents' team just because.

How about Stepfan Taylor against Oregon? Yes, he had a fumble, but he ran through the Ducks' defense! 161 yards on 33 carries! He brings that workhorse mentality and has all the skills to succeed in the NFL. Notice how many times he had to help block on passing plays. He is a reliable blocker and with the great combo of his shiftiness and power he should be a Bronco!

Oregon has both a small defense, and multiple injuries on defense.

Will there be any RB similar to Doug Martin in the 2013 Draft? That's the kind of #1 RB the Broncos need.

I like Taylor, and think he has a shot to be the Broncos second round pick.

But I like Giovani Bernard better. That kid has it all, great, instinctive running skills, very good receiver, and is a legit punt returner as well. Tougher between the tackles than you would think at 5'9"-205 too...

Bernard will be a mid to high second round pick, though, so it will come down to how high he climbs in the offseason
