There was more of an outcry when we traded Tebow for peanuts, not for signing Manning. A lot of people myself included would have liked to have kept him as a backup due to Manning's age/health.

And I'm pretty sure people were most mad because didn't Elway say something like.. "Tebow is the QB of this team.." something along those lines I can't remember the exact quote, and the traded him the next couple weeks.
Im talking about the non-Bronco fans of Tebow many of whom only care about football because of him. I never heard so many people mad at me for being a Bronco fan and I lived in Cali for nearly a decade. Us even courting Manning was horrible to them because they new held be traded or benched and some said it was practically blasphemy because we were only doing it because he was "Christian".

Yes, I would take him to be a RB. That would eliminate the worries about practicing for two offenses.

Personally, I can't see the worry about any outcry. I don't believe for one minute that fans would start screaming for Tebow if Manning had a bad game. I don't believe for one minute that the 10 or 20 thousand people screaming his name were all from Gainesville, Florida. The vast majority of those people were Bronco fans who were sick of seeing a paltry offense flounder about for 4 quarters.

I don't think there are many teams in the league that could handle Tebow being signed as a RB, but I think Denver is one of the teams that could.....as long as we have Manning.

With a real QB nobody would be asking for a benching because the team would be winning games and he would be consistently playing well. Even an above average QB wouldn't be getting calls to be benched just because Tebow is there.

Plus you'd be getting the best RB in the league if this hypothetical situation was real and he could run like AP...

          Just sayin'.
Who could run like AP?!? I am confused. you confused me... I must be getting old... my reading comprehension is not so good

I'd like to add to what I was saying here:

I think Tebow has plenty of agility to be a first and second down RB. Although his 40 time was only in the 4.7 range (no he's not going to run away from people), his 3 cone time and his 20 yard shuttle times were among the best RB's in his draft class. He may not be fast, but his ability to accelarate in short spaces and cut back are probably as good as most power backs in the league.

Actually he cuts better then most cut backs if you look at the numbers, he also is hard to take down when hes on the run.

Exactly, I could easily see him as a 1k yard rusher.

I believe that 3-cone drill is a good measure of a players cutting ability. Jamaal Charles 6.80, Ray Rice had a 6.65, Peterson had a 7.09, Foster had a 7.09. Same with the 20-yard shuttle. Peterson 4.40, Foster 4.53, Ray Rice 4.20, Charles 4.22. I also believe that 10 yard dash and vertical is a good indication of exploveness. For 10-yard dash Peterson 1.53, Rice 1.47, Charles 1.46, Foster 1.62. For verticals, Peterson 38 1/2, Foster 32, Rice 31 1/2, Charles 30 1/2.

                  Tim Tebow
                  3-cone: 6.66
                  20-yard shuttle: 4.17
                  10-yard dash: 1.55
                  Vertical: 38 1/2

2nd 3-cone drill to ray rice by .01, best 20-yard shuttle by .03, 4th 10-yard dash .09 behind the leader Charles, tied for best on vertical. 10 pounds heavier than any of these RB's. I'm not saying he could be as good at all. I'm just saying his short area quickness and exploveness is top notch and considering he has shown good vision when running I believe he would be MORE than servicable in the back field. He has also shown that he can block. As for running routes, that needs some serious work. Tebows real talent has always been running the ball, not throwing it.

I actually thought he would post some pretty good stats as a running back this year in New York. But they have not used him at all really. And they don't get into the redzone much, like us with Tebow as the quarterback last year. So he doesn't get many shots at getting touchdowns. Man it must suck to be a Jets fan. Arguing over two of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Man I remember those days. Give Mcelroy the job.

Tim Tebow will not be coming back to Denver in any role what so ever so this is a hypothetical discussion and has no elements of realism to it. No matter what some want to say it would bring the circus with it again. If Manning had a bad streak people would call for Tebow. It would have happened at the start of this season. See how many Broncos fans talked crap and made themselves look like fools then wth their overreactions. Hell we had some people after the preseason saying I wish we just stuck with Tebow and built for the future. It would have happened and thank god we got rid of him as the quarterback. One because he wasn't very good and had little prospects but also to get rid of the dumbest fan base in all of sports. The Tim Tebow circus.

As I have said from day 1 the guy has very little potential as an NFL quarterback. He has shown little improvment over the course of his NFL career and he is overhyped, overrated and overdrafted. I think he would get onto a roster some where as a quarterback. However I don't know who would want him. No matter where he goes he will not be given or handed a starting role. He will have to earn it and with his terrible practise play it is unlikely it would happen. It wasn't suprising at all that the NFL agreed with me when Tebow was on the block. No team wanted him as a starter and no one wanted to give up high round picks. As I told people time and time again. But no I was a hater and he will net a second round pick in trade Tim Tebow in the off season will probably be cut making John Elway look like even more of a great NFL Executive. He is one offseason away from getting the tag of journeyman.

But I was always amused when people would say he had a unique skill set. Because he doesn't. He is pretty athletic and has a poor arm. I don't see that as unique at all and when people talked about him in other positions I was always shaking my head. People would say he could play fullback. I don't think he is tough enough or strong enough as a player to block downhill running linebackers. And there would be many fullbacks out there already who could do it much better then him and they wouldn't have to learn the position. Then with him playing tight end. There would be so many other guys out there who could do it better then him that are more athletic and better pass catches. Plus they would be better blockers. However when people talked about running back I could see it. I have said for a while Tebow could get it done as a running back. Would he be great ? I doubt it. However he could pick up short yards and make some people miss. But overall he has a rather poor skill set and is just a guy in the NFL. In the media he is made out to be more put when he is on the field. He is just a guy.

I would love to revisit so many of them Tebow threads. So many laughs in them. I wish I could bump them but it is pointless. I remember arguing with like 10 at a time and everyone thinking they were right just because they had a dellusional bunch of spastics agreeing with them. Thank go them days are over though.
