good move IMO. Just wish they'd let the useless Gronk go.

I'm not sure how good he is as a bruising FB, but I do know that he has good hands and he's a decent runner, which would add another dimension to our offense. Now defenses has to respect the FB position because of Jacobs ability to catch out of the backfield. That's a plus for us if you ask me!

I'm not sure if it's personnel or scheme, but we've been in singleback formations for the majority of the season. I don't see that changing with the addition of FB/RB who's not great at blocking. May just be a depth move, but I'd prefer a practice squad promotion than a free agent signing.

          Good addition I think.

It may be that PM likes the route combinations to attack coverages that are offered by formations with three WRs, one TE and one RB (i.e., one of the Single Back formations). It is still possible to run effectively from Single Back, and he likes to change plays depending on the read. The OL both zone blocks and pulls well to either side, especially with Kuper back.

Remains to be seen if Hester would appear in Single Back, or in two back either as a TB or FB. Unrein was used as a FB once, so maybe a Jumbo package is waiting for Hester.

Before he was injured, the Broncos were lining McGahee up as FB in an offset I. The only play I saw him run from FB was Dive. Trap is another possibility. Don't know if Hester could hit the hole quick enough on Trap which is what they may have been setting up for McGahee. We shall see.

I think it is a solid addition considering the talent available. I also think we see him as more of a short yardage running option rather than as a blocking back. He was a very solid runningback in college with LSU. If he can pick up the offense quickly I think he can contribute in a limited role.

It'll take him awhile for him to get up to speed as far as knowing the offense so he probably won't have an immediate impact. He may be able to replace Ball but he's more than likely just injury insurance. Green has been lining up at FB on the rare occasions that he we have had a FB on the field and Green is more dangerous as a receiver than Hester, but Hester is probably better at running the ball

It is simple. McGahee was the only back we trusted to run the ball on 3rd and short. Now we have Hester to fill that role. A backup and a role player.

I expect Moreno to be the workhorse, Hillman to be change of pace, Hester to be short yardage and Ball to be the does-everything-ok-but-not-great insurance.

Well, I think there is a fear that McGahee isn't coming back anytime soon. Knowshon, while having played well against the Chiefs on Sunday, does still have a history of injury. And should Moreno get injured again, Hillman has shown that he's not quite capable of running between the tackles. Probably just for depth (and to spell Moreno).

I think this just makes our Offense more versatile. With the an added dimension of a all around fullback
Was kinda rooting for Slaton with his speed but I still like this move.

Slaton fumbles to much and he really didnt bring anything extra the Broncos didnt have, Hester gives us such better blocking I cant wait to see.

I will make a bold prediction about Hester. The guy is 5'10-1/2 and 235 and still runs around 4.6 in the 40. I predict that Fox uses him as a RB (not FB) and as soon as he gets the play book down Fox incorporates him into the offense and he gets more carries than Ball or Hillman does. Barring injury, next year MaGahee, Moreno and Hester shares the RB duty and Ball in gone. IF Hillman learns to block he will someday replace MaGahee in the threesome.
San Diego used Hester wrong but that is nothing new for the Dolts anyway. lol
BTW, Hester was voted the Chargers special teams player of the year in 2011 (from what understand). That won't hurt his chances of hanging with the team either!

I think you are correct on how Fox intends to use him. But I think they'll draft a running back in the upcoming draft. Moreno's fate is depending on his performance from here on out, but either way, I still think they draft a running back.

Well it is a Bronco move and we got a new player...that alone excites me but that is about as far as it goes now.

Who knows this may turn in to ANOTHER ho-hum signing that pays off big down the road like so many Elway and Co have made so far.
