Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Our Division Rivals Should Have Three Selections in the Top 10
So that 77-33 whooping in the Orange Bowl on Clemson didn't happen?
I understand your point with Case Keenum but it's pretty obvious that Geno Smith is a very good quarterback and is going to go in the top 15 and should go in the top 15.
Yes, actually that did happen, but my point still stands as Pat was as good of a college player and exceeded Geno's resume as a college player.
And I agree that he will go in the top 15, and I'll add on, saying the demand for quarterbacks will be the reason. Compared to last year's QBs, he's a younger Weeden in my eyes.
Doesnt Jarvis Jones have some sort of spine issue?
I am not sure spending a top 5 pick on a guy whose career may be limited is the best way to go
For KC I think it depends on what sort of schemes they want to run
If Pioli and co. are gone, then I doubt they will stick with that same 3-4 scheme they are running now
It seems to me that outside of maybe Geno Smith and the LT from A & M, that the top 10 will be all defensive players
Compared to last year's QBs, he's a younger Weeden in my eyes.
And Brandon Weeden would have been a top 10 pick if he had Geno Smith's age. Even though Geno Smith is not an elite prospect like Luck and Griffin, I believe NFL scouts will agree he has better tape than Brock Osweiler and Pat White.
If I were Kansas City, I would take Jarvis Jones, since they need a good pass-rushing linebacker, but they'll probably take Geno Smith. If I were Oakland, I'd take Jarvis Jones, since they desperately need more pass rush, but they don't know what they're doing so they'll probably hire Norv Turner as their HC and take Te'o. If I were San Diego, I'd try to get new OTs in free agency, so they could go a lot of ways.
Justin Houston has 10 sacks and it's only his 2nd year. Tamba Hali has 8 sacks as well. Both are very good pass rushers.

Everything you said has truth. Weeden might have (still don't think Miami takes him over Tannehill, considering the Sherman relationship) have been a top 10 pick, but like I said earlier it would only be because the demand for QBs, not because he is truly elite.
Brock was taken on potential, the true definition of a "prospect." When we took him, we had every hope that he would produce better in the NFL than college. Pat White wouldn't touch Geno as a prospect, he's like a better Denard Robinson, but like I also said, he was still a better college player than Smith.
Unlike Osweiler, anybody who drafts Smith will be hoping that he could come close to replicating his college sucess, if that team is being realistic whatsoever.

KC has Hali and Houston at OLB but you can never have enough pass rushers i suppose...

Wow, you got another thing coming if you think he is another Weeden. Geno > Tannenhill
Chiefs: top QB on their board (it's too early in the process, at this point it could be Smith, Barkley, Wilson, Glennon...)
Raiders: Jarvis Jones. Their priority might be pass rush, similar to when Denver chose Von Miller. Now you'll believe when someone tells you a 4-3 OLB can rush the passer and produce double-digit sacks.
Chargers: top OT/OG on their board. I understand the importance of taking the BPA, but maybe the Chargers have reached a point where they have one offseason to build an offensive line. They must bump Ryan Mathews' production and save Rivers' career at the same time.
I feel like KC is in the same situation they were awhile back with Glenn Dorsey being their picks over a need at QB, Joe Flacco of course being taken later in the 1st round. And then again a few years ago with Tyson Jackson at 3, passing on Mark Sanchez and Josh Freeman. I don't think they'll change it this year, I think they'll take Te'o and he'd really just make that an elite group at LB. Take a gamble on a free agent QB, draft one in the second round and hope he gives you more than Quinn and Cassell.
Pioli will be fired of they don't draft a QB early this year. You can take that to the bank.

Hopefully none get Jarvis Jones, he is, IMO the Von Miller of this draft, without being quite as athletic. Still though, I would hate to see him as a Chief or Raider.
I hope/doubt they do.
Jones has the same thing that ended the older Manning's career and many others prematurely.
So while they may get an elite defender, he may last only a few years.

You have to remember Oakland was doing what we did with Von well before us with Wimbley.
And it just so happens that their current regime got rid of him, and the two new starters are playing well on the outside.
I don't see them drafting an outside linebacker.

KC doesn't need a pass rushing LB. They have Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. The past 2 years Hali has 20 sacks and Houston has 15.5. Houston is 23 and Hali is 29. Jones might be an upgrade over them though so I wouldn't turn him down if that was the pick.
I just think KC could trade down from #1 and still get one of the top QBs. Glennon very well might turn out to be the best QB in this draft. Even so, KC would be better off playing Quinn and drafting a QB high next year.

That's what they thought when he was turned away after being recruited in college. Georgia is reaping all of the benefits and there has yet to be a concern about it. It works to his advantage that he is the one layin the hits, not being hit.
Wow, you got another thing coming if you think he is another Weeden. Geno > Tannenhill
Well I guess we're going to have to come to a disagreement about Weeden, cause I see Weeden as a stronger armed version of Geno, while Geno is a more mobile version of Weeden. I don't think they are far off at all as prospects, besides age.
And I never said Tannehill was better, I said I think he would have been taken ahead of Smith because of Miami's relationship with him, as their OC was Tannehill's college HC. This year, I think Geno would go ahead of Tannehill, last year, Tannehill goes first no doubt in my mind.
And for the record, Kiper has Geno as the 23rd ranked prospect, supporting my claim that he will go in the top 15 only due to the demand for quarterbacks as well as lack of them.
