  • RB next season

Ok so we all no McGahee only has one MAYBE 2 years left in the tank, the guy is a hoss but to many fumbles and way to injury prone.

With that who would be the next best fit?

I know a lot of us are drinking the KnoSho Kool-Aid and as much as id like him to succeed i just dont see him as a work horse back. Horrible in short yardage, also is injury prone.

I don't see a lot of depth in the draft this year and i think our picks would be better spent on Dline Oline depth and perhaps DB's.

Out of the current rb pool i see a few options, Steve Slaton is very interesting to me, he was a beast in Houston before his injury.

How about Fred Jackson? again injury prone but he is a bruiser, get is pass protection and a beast in receiving. could we lure him from Buffalo? could be easier with Spiller tearing it up, but what would we have to give up?

How about Reggie bush? It looks like he might not resign with Miami and he has big play capability.

There is also Mendenhall from the Steelers who will be a FA next year. He had some bad luck with injuries this year but before that he was pretty consistent.

What do you all think? anyone else out there you'd like to see in orange and blue?

The Broncos will probably draft one in the second round.

DeAngelo Williams will find his way here somehow. Perfect compliment to McGahee that can carry the load should McGahee get injured again. He's a veteran and Fox loves his veterans, particularly the ones at RB that don't fumble and Williams isn't much of a fumbler. I've heard some people say that Williams is wearing down, well people said the same thing about McGahee when he came here and he had received a lot more carries than Williams has so far. Plus Williams behind a pretty bad o-line.

Alternatively if we go this route. I really like Montee Ball, Eddie Lacy, and Kenjon Barner a bit later.

Sure. I get the impression there will be a number of good RB prospects and that the Broncos will get one of them. After the third round would be fine, too. Lacy, Barner and Ball look like great prospects to me, too.

I like Williams but he is getting a bit old, kinda like McGahee and Fred Jackson. I still like the Slaton option, i think he could still be a beast givin the chance.

With the re-signings on the Broncos' agenda, thay may steeer clear of free agents requiring a lot of $$.

When McGahee went on IR, Slaton was one of the backs brought in for a workout. I saw many of his college games. The Broncos have McGahee and Fannin on IR plus Johnson on PS to go with Moreno, Hillman, Ball and Hester. Slaton would be a good addition to the TC pool along with a rookie.

                    D. Williams, R. Mendenhall, or maybe even Brandon Jacobs could be FA options. In the draft I think we could surprise some people and snag a guy in the middle rounds (like Montee Ball, Marcus Lattimore, or Knile Davis). Or if Moreno keeps playing really well maybe we'll just stick with the group we have now...

                      Uh.

                      1. "Knoshow" is offensive.

                      2. He's touched the ball 84 times the last three games, not to mention he has averaged 10 pass protection snaps a game. McGahee? 3 a game. If that's not work horse, I don't know what is.

                      3. Lmao. Moreno is fantastic in short yardage. Horrible? He is the best we have on the team, considering he has played behind awful OLs and still has a fantastic percentage of his runs going for positive yardage. He also has a better percentage of TD's in goal line carries compared to McGahee, scoring on 2 of every 5.

                      4. He is not injury prone. Out of a possible 61 games, he has missed 10 due to injury. He has had bad luck with injuries, yes, but that is behind him.

                      5. Moreno is miles ahead better than every other RB you referenced in your post. Fred Jackson? Reggie Bush? Mendenhal? Slaton?!?! Goodness...

Woah dude, calm down. wasnt trying to upset anyone just getting some dialog going.

I dont know what to say about you thinking KnoSho is offensive, just a nick name, it rhymes Kno -Sho get it?

I hope he finishes strong and proves hes our starter for next season, we wouldnt have to use a pick on a rb or spend money in FA, but i just dont think it will happen. Thats my opinion, and im sure others feel the same, and i wanted to see what everyone else thought of different options.

Im sorry you took it so hard. seriously you act like i attacked your mother.

I'm not willing to name Knowshon the new TD just yet.

Let him continue playing and if he keeps running hard then great he'll have a chance to claim the starting role.

I would draft an RB to challenge him though because although he's doing well, history dictates that something bad will happen (I hope not obviously).

Also how is KnoSho offensive? Unless of course you are Knowshon Moreno and you find it offensive.

Wouldn't mind a Le'Veon Bell, Moreno and Hillman triple-threat backfield. Keeps them all fresh, all bring something different to the table, and I think Bell could turn into a true workhorse.

I reckon lattimore could drop hugely in his draft stock. And pick him up in the 3-5 rounds.

He came back from his other knee why can't he do it with his other? Kid deserves a chance to play in the pro's. Could rest him for a season.

Moreno seriously starting to look like a first rounder he suppose to be over the past few weeks.
