Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I've been lurking in this thread alot, I'm not getting a feel for what we need.
MLB?
CB?
OG/C?
DT?
DE?
SS/FS?
RB?
OT?
TE/WR?
Would be interesting finding out what most of you think.
Never done a pole here ,afraid I'd screw it up. If someone wants to do one go for it! I'd like to see the results.
Miraculously, for the first time in forever, it seems like we don't "need" anything in specific. The best part about this is we can take the BPA at a variety of positions that could use upgrades, which, IMO, include SS, MLB, NT, OG, and WR.
Thanks I appreciate the feed back.
No RB or CB for better depth.
I agree the term NEED isn't appropriate, should have used WANT.
Even though need isn't appropriate, it's the generic term, didn't mean to make it seem as if it was used incorrectly. Every team has a "needs" column come draft season, even if there aren't exactly "needs"
Brookings is a band aid, and is so old he played vs Elway in the SB, Joe Mays looked terrible. I'm not saying its a do or die for our defense but I definitely consider it a need.
However, I don't think we should reach for a Mike. If there is a considerably better prospect at a different position on the board, you take him.

Is DJ considered in this? Or is it that you don't see him being capable of being a Mike? I could see him taking the playoff snaps at MLB from Brooking, and he's been looking good all season anyways.

No, I think DJ can play some mike. We can line up with Woodyard-DJ-Von and that can be a solid lineup.
But I think DJ is better on the outside, and I'd rather get a true Mike in the middle, and allow DJ to play his natural position.
Like I said I don't think it will kill our D if we don't get a MLB, I just think it would be a huge help.

It would be ideal to have DJ play his natural position, but at the same time I believe a good coach keeps his best players on the field, and the lineup you listed would be the best possible, IMO, unless we go to FA.
The only LB I could see being able to start over DJ at MLB is Manti Te'o, and he'll be gone. Ogletree plays with athleticism, but not much else in terms of discipline. I don't think any other LBs are worth mentioning when it comes to starting next year.
I do think taking a LB like Nico Johnson or Andrew Jackson would be beneficial, but still don't think either could start as a rookie.

I've only been able to see 3 or 4 games this year. What do you think of Trevathan or Johnson as as potential mlb's?
True, I forgot about him. I actually like the way he plays, I was at the LSU-A&M game and he flew around the field and helped beat Johnny Football. It's especially impressive that his DL is undersized, forcing Minter to play bigger than he is.
