  • Geno Atkins has sickle cell. He can't play in Denver without a major health risk.

I think we will continue to pick up guys that are good football players but won't break the bank, couple that with strong drafts picks and its how you build a team around your high priced guys like Manning, Doom, and Champ without going into salary cap hell for a few years.
This, i could see us go after Knighton though if JDR stays, and move Wolfe inside to DT a little more but not sure if the coaching staff likes him at DE or DT going forward.

That's about as big of a name as i can see us go with our cap situation.

      • By 2014 we will be working on extending Von Miller's contract. Pretty unlikely we could afford them both.

I didn't realize that sub 4.5 was that slow? Is that why he transferred from Oregon, too slow. According to Draft Scout Weekly, he has ran 4.35 40.

He may run those times (but I HIGHLY doubt it), but he is not an explosive receiver. He is a possession receiver with average game speed at best for college football standards. I would be willing to wager he runs closer to a 4.6 than a 4.4 at the combine.

I didn't personally time him, and I doubt if you did either, but we will see come combine time BUT:
If the man can run a 4.5 or time and is a possession receiver, that sounds a pretty good start to me. Being at K-State I would bet he can block which seems like one of the thing Broncos offensive coaches require.
His speed is not as important to me as his ability to separate from a defended and catch every pass, not just the hard ones. I just thought it seemed that it is all over the web that he runs a sub 4.5 and he was being referred to as a "slow possession receiver". lol
