  • East-West Shrine Game Today

I know this is a low budget all-star game but there are a few players to watch.

Dan Buckner from AZ. WR 6-4, 211. Solid hands and routes but low speed.

Chad Bumphis from Miss. State. WR 5-11, 200. He is my mid round pick for us in the draft.

Christine Michael. RB from Texas A&M. 5-11, 220. A nice big back with some speed. His stock will start to climb after this game, imo.

Matt Scott. QB from AZ. 6-3, 210. I don't think he will be a good pro but could be looked at by teams trying to run an option offense.

Collin Klein. QB from Kansas State. 6-5, 225. Can he improve his draft stock?

    Players im looking out for

Zac Stacy, RB - runningback i like in mid rounds

Christine Michael - i read he was in the dog house this year, the reason for the low amount of touches. but hes a player i liked a couple years ago. want to see how he does.

Shamarko Thomas, S - broncos seem to be interested in him. want to see how he does here.

Nick Moody LB - i just want to see his facemask, i heard he has a Bane type face mask.

The most interesting player in this game might be DE Mike Catapano (Princeton). Someone from DraftCountdown made a thread about him.

Mike Catapano 6'4" and a "lean" 275 lbs runs a 4.65 40 (with a 7 foot wingspan to boot) and has had a MONSTER senior season with 12 sacks, 15.5 TFL, 3 FF and 6 passes batted down in only 10 games!

Catapano is 2012 Bushnell Cup Winner for Ivy League Defensive Player Of The Year...and a SUPER athlete, especially for his size! If you are unfamiliar with him or haven't looked closely enough check out Catapano who has an invite to the East West Shrine Game on Jan 19th in Fla.

Catapano trains year round doing MMA training and this past off season worked with NFL All Pro Chuck Smith at his pass rushing training center in Georgia....Smith who trained Osi Unenyiora and other great NFL pass rushers says Catapano will take a backseat to NOBODY in this year's draft...HUGE sleeper!
        from his twitter account:
        Chuck Smith NFL @chucksmithnfl.
I've trained a lot of great Dl/LB/OLB, Mike Catapano wont take a back seat to anyone in this years Draft! He will be special!

Catapano's coach at Princeton Bob Surace compared him to NFL All Pro Justin Smith whom he coached while with the Cincinnati Bengals...high praise indeed. Look for Catapano to turn heads at the East West Shrine Game and continue to quickly rise up the draft boards. Future NFL star here.

                        It was hardly impressive.

Nice speed I guess, that's a completion in the NFL though.

Doesn't sound like Colin klein is having a good day:

Collin Klein, like Tebow, seems to have no natural feel/accuracy in his throws... aiming, not seeing & letting it fly, no future as NFL QB.

Devin Taylor is having a big game, the level of competition seems to be low for him. What is he doing in this game? Shouldn't he be part of the Senior Bowl?
