I see Devin Taylor in a similar situation as Greg Hardy. Just like Hardy, Taylor was once considered a 1st round pick. Hardy also played in the East-West Shrine Game (2010) and his draft stock fell after a senior season with 5 sacks in 9 games.

Taylor was considered a potential early-departure first-rounder going into 2011, but a somewhat statistically underwhelming season caused his stock to drop a bit, and he decided to stay for his senior season.

According to SI's Tony Pauline, South Carolina DE Devin Taylor had a "terrible day" at East-West Shrine practice Tuesday and appears to have regressed since a promising start to his college career.

Per Pauline, Taylor was "handled at the point" by offensive linemen "down to the small-school blockers" and "gave the impression his best football is behind him." Rotoworld's Josh Norris is at the East-West Shrine and didn't think Taylor was quite as bad as Pauline portrays, but it's notable nonetheless. A first-team All-SEC pick as a sophomore in 2010, Taylor hit a wall thereafter and managed just 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks as a senior in 2012.

No one could handle him during the game.

Taylor has better size and was a more productive pass rusher in the SEC (18.5 career sacks). Taylor could certainly compete for a job with the Broncos, especially because Derek Wolfe's long-term position might be DT.
Robert Ayers played a lot at DT, Taylor got to play DE a lot more than Ayers did. Taylor also hasn't seen a double team for the past 2 years with Jadeveon Clowney opposite of him. Ayers also went to the Senior Bowl and had a big game at DE. Taylor has all world potential though if he stays motivated.

Forgot to include Devin Taylor in my list but meant to. Highly recruited coming out of high school, a physical marvel that has a career of underachieving despite playing across the best DE in football. He's stiff in the hips, not very explosive but he has a lot of power.

He played almost exclusively against Tanner Hawkinson, a 6th round at best prospect.
