I could see the Colts being the team that offers Woodson at least $4 mil per. You're Wrong!

Although if we want to make a move in FA I would prefer we get Ellerbe. Woodyard, Ellerbe, and Miller would be a pretty sick LB group.

Bruton or Carter would get cut before Mike Adams does. For Flynn, a 3 year 10 million dollar contract is not big at all for a QB which is what it is now because he won't reach the contract's ceiling. Even if he reached the max of the deal, 8 mil is below what the average starting QB makes. Kolb's "huge" deal only averages out to 10 mil per year which is the average for starting QBs.
Carter was a fourth round pick last year, and is due to make 550,000, up against Adams' 2M if he's on the 53 man roster. Carter is younger, and can contribute on special teams. For relation, Julius Thomas, also a fourth round pick that year, has stuck around without contributing nearly as much as Carter (ex. 2 playoff interceptions).Fightin' Texas Aggie c/o '16

I don't want either of them. Woodson is a 36 year old mr. Glass. He's broken that collar bone twice now, how much more do you think it can take? He's a aging cb who no longer possess the ability to play physical any more. I'd rather keep the safety's we have and bring in revis insteadA healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

No. No Woodson or Reed.
They are both getting old, their skills are declining, along with their speed. We don't need slow DBs, we need young and fast speedy DBs. Keep Bruton and Carter instead. I don't know if you guys remember Champ getting burned by Torrey Smith? Age doesn't lie.
Just no, build through the draft and keep getting young talent.

Now that I think about it (a bit more), I'd consider Woodson. My only concern is injury, but as I posted elsewhere, this is the year we should take some risks in order to win it all.......with Peyton still at a high level, and coming so close this year. What I love about Woodson is his ability to create turnovers......and I believe he still has that capability. He is very athletic, and would also get some sacks in the process.

I don't understand how anyone could say we shouldn't bring in Reed or Woodson for just money and no draft picks then turn around and say "Let's just bring in Revis instead" considering the price tag of Revis with draft picks and money which would have to result in a long term high paid contract that would cripple us financially in extending our current players when our corners were more than good this past year. They were down right impressive. People having a knee jerk reaction to one playoff game.
I think signing a guy like Woodson and Reed to play safety with Carter n Moore at depth with both Reed n Woodson to 2 MAYBE 3 year deals at low cost and if you really want a corner take One in the 1st and a DT in the 2nd or whoever the heck you want rather than dealing both our picks for Revis. Obviously a guy like Moore and I also believe Carter would have a heavy rotation a long with Tony Carter in the case of specific match ups. For example sticking Woodson on the slot moving Moore to SS n keeping reed at FS when we play teams that have big physical slot receivers or split their TE out like Aaron Hernandez in NE.Last edited by Matymaddog; 02-18-2013, 10:05 AM.

Teams often want to move in the direction of getting younger. We won't know if he's "washed up" without them looking at the videotape and seeing if a deal can be worked out. But, it wouldn't hurt to look into it.sigpic
