A lot of people were high on Monte Ball last year. I wasn't. I also wasn't high on Doug Martin (I know I think I was the only one) and look what happened there hah. But vision is what I think sets these two apart from the heard. Would rather add a power back IMO but would not be mad at all if Ball landed here. My opinion has obviously changed.

I've been hearing for some time that the Broncos are interested in Montee Ball. So, it is no surprise that his name is coming up quite a bit. And Montee has said himself that he'd like to be a Bronco. But without a trade down, out of the 1st for extra picks, I don't see the guy coming here. We have a late 1st, late 2nd, and late 3rd. The 1st is way too early, and I don't believe there's any way that Elway believes in spending a 1st on a "non-Adrian Peterson" RB. The end of the 2nd Round will probably be too late. And Ball, as an overall talent, and not considering his position as a RB, is a late 3rd Rd. talent. But with the lack of decent runners, I see Ball going in the 2nd, prior to where we pick.
I prefer Stepfan Taylor. Ball has a few hundred more yards running in his college career, and is a better runner than Taylor. Taylor has twice as many receptions, fits the Broncos scheme, and is a decent runner. Plus, he's from Stanford which might catch Elway's attention. I also agree with the opinion on the above mentioned back, LeVeon Bell, whose 30 lbs bigger than Ball, had 3 times as many receptions as Ball had last season, had almost as many yards, in one fewer game.
I believe that in order to get any of the 3 RBs mentioned, and I'd be happy with any of the 3, it will take some movement. If we stay where we are, and use the 1st two Picks on a BPA (which I don't believe includes a RB) and "trenches" player, as I hope, then we'll have to be creative to get any of those RBs

In the NFL, and professional sports as a whole, anything can change in one second. If someone is available either during FA or through the Draft, and the FO thinks they can have a bigger impact now, he will be a Bronco.

If I'm wrong, that means one of these players has really stepped it up......but right now I believe we need to, and will find someone else.
