Peyton recruiting Freeney to the Broncos?

On PFT Live, Dwight Freeney said Peyton Manning already is recruiting Freeney to join the Broncos.

Some cuts/restructures would have to be made, but as long as the price isn't crazy, would be a good addition.

I wouldn't mind it, but it all depends on the price. It also depends on what the coaching staff thinks of Malik Jackson and Derek Wolfe and whether their future is at DE or DT. But if we would essentially be replacing Jason Hunter (who is a free agent) with Freeney then I would not be opposed to it at all. You can never have too many pass rushers and it would be nice to have a guy to spell Dumervil. Dumervil, Wolfe, Ayers, and Freeney would be a pretty solid DE rotation for sure.

Would this mean moving Wolfe inside? Unless they plan on doing something else with doom...

You can't have too many pass rushers. Of course, depending on $$$, etc, He'd look good in a Denver uniform!

He'll be in our nickle defense, I highly doubt he'll start. Can still be a great pass rusher as a DE so it's a good move.

You can NEVER have enough pass rushers, our pass rush was MIA vs Bal.

The Giants took JPP when they had Osi and Tuck, looks genius now.

Yes and like mentioned above losing Jason hunter to fa and getting Dwight freeney in a sub package role is highway robbery and I love it. $ is a determining factor but otherwise this lets us bring a crazy amount of schem variations ESP when you talk about stunting the likes of Von, doom, Wolfe, Malik Jackson and freeney.....sick

On paper it looks good, but IMHO, it would hurt either Doom or Miller, because they would not be given the edge in rushing the passer, where each of them, along with Freeny, are valued highest. The plus side is that it would allow us to utilize Miller to get pressure up the middle, like we did a lot of against Oakland in 2011.
