Either Steven Jackson takes an interest (vice versa) or I think the Lacy in the 1st talks heat up. We're obviously looking for a younger, talented bruiser. Clearly on the short list of things.

This may not be popular to those who have gotten hyped up on him but Im not convinced Lacy will go in the first round unless a team that already picked trades back into the last few spots because they want him and think someone else takes him at the beginning of the second. Teams are pumping the breaks on him without any workout so far, it's a quad tweak that isn't going away so even if he gets a workout in for teams to evaluate before the draft he may not be a full go; bad workout (even when it's prefaced with 'well he was injured') is almost worse than no workout.

He's a solid back, gotta say i'm concerned with how much of his success correlates directly with his all-world offensive line though. But honestly instead of wasting a 1st or 2nd on Lacy when there's so much talent available on the d-line, o-line AND the defensive secondary, id so much rather wait until the 3rd or 4th and grab somone else that fits the bill. There's a thread about it on the board I'm not gonna get myself started but there are always good backs available later.

That's what I'm saying. It would have been a major mistake for Denver to waste money on him. Frankly I think every back we already have is better than Mendenhall.

From what I've heard Jackson is close to a deal with the Packers if they haven't signed him already.

Glad the broncos didnt get Mendenhall, dont thing jackoson will be coming over, not sure what kind of health benson or turner is in but if they were to come in at a low cost 1 year deal and loose Ball, i'd take that i like the other three we have as long as they stay helthy.
