I am hoping Kuper gets healed and will remain with us.

I saw on twitter that they are $50K under the cap. That is, of course before restructuring Doom, and making some cuts. Freeney is on speed dial.
Remember: If you dont feed the trolls - they will go away! Neither logic nor a compelling argument will make a difference.

you are close....its only 120k under the cap..But that includes alot of players that wont be around when we get the final players. Also, this does not include alot of things including DOOMS paycut.

I think we can even be over the cap until after training camp. Not sure when exactly but I think as long as we are below the cap by the time the season starts we are good.

Teams can never be over the cap. When they say "this team is over the cap" they are just saying that the next seasons contracts, once they kick in, would put a team over the cap. That is why they have to get in line before the season starts, which was a few days ago.

Otherwise teams could just hoard players until the last minute and not let them practice with new teams.

Got it. I thought we could be over up until the season started but obviously that is not the case. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Well, it was either a 5 mil hit to cut him, or an 8 mil hit to keep him. It stinks that his restructured deal didn't work out, but Elway and co. have been preparing for this for the last week and a half or so. I believe I saw on twitter earlier today that Doom's release has now given us about 7-8 million in cap space to work with. And of course, we can still cut some guys to raise that number...

I wonder does the release of DE E. Dumervil and subsequent cap hit mean
MLB Mays and his heavy contract make him expendable in order to increase our
                    cap?

its not a 5mill cap hit...after cutting him we are at 8.7mill of cap space. don't overthink it. just know we are at 8.7 mill

Mays and kuper were both going to be cut anyways wether the doom situation happened or not
