Caleb Hanie got cut a few days ago. I fully expect the Broncos to bring in another QB to compete with Osweiler. And considering the fact that Peyton Manning now has a neck made out of the finest of porcelain, Osweiler could be in a position to be taking snaps in Game #1. So, how would everybody feel about that? Wouldn't a guy, like Matt Barkley, from a "Pro" offense be a nice guy to have around if the extremely raw Osweiler can't do it? Matt Barkley is a clear "upgrade".

The point is that an argument can be made for Drafting a QB, just like it can for a TE. And I understand the draw. I had the pleasure of watching one of the greatest Broncos Tight End get drafted as the 5th overall pick, and play his entire career in Denver, in Riley Odoms. It's great to watch.

But frankly, just like I don't see a guy like Te'o, who I've argued against Drafting, as being a superior athlete worth spending a 1st Rd. choice on, I feel the same way about Eifert. Eifert ran a 4.68 at the Combine. Average, at best. Virgil Green, at 6-3, 250 ran a 4.5 40. Julius Thomas, a basketball player, ran a 4.57, and we've been working with those two guys for a couple of years now. Do you go after 2 Tight ends in Tamme and Dreesen, get them, bring in some young guys to work with, and then toss it all out for a guy who is a solid receiver, but not all that special an athlete? The Broncos might do that, but I wouldn't.

I agree with you about Oz. Being as there is a good chance Manning plays 4-5 years with us. I would have rather drafted a true backup to win now, like Cousins, than a guy like Oz.
