  • John Abraham

Is he still a possibility even with the signing of Shaun Phillips? Would like to see a pass rush of Miller-Abraham-Wolfe-Williams-Phillips!

Forget about him....he wants WAY too much money. At one time he was thinking he wants 12 million a year and 5 million a year even if he was terrible. Maybe he has brought his price down since then...but i doubt much

Someone will overpay for him and thankfully it's not going to be us.

Yep...it will be some idiot team that gets desperate after an injury or something.

Until he signs elsewhere, I continue to believe Abraham is in play for the Broncos.

The Post said the Broncos 'got sticker shock' at Abraham's asking price, so that is the issue. If the Broncos can sign Abraham at their price, it'll get done. If not, I believe the Broncos will carry Jeremy Beal and Quanterus Smith in addition to Robert Ayers, Derek Wolfe and Malik Jackson at DE...and like Shaun Phillips and Quentin Jammer, John Abraham doesn't have a ring, and that works in Denver's favor.

Exactly. He'll wait around for that possibility.

I doubt we sign him. He wants a lot of money, he is old, and he doesn't want to pass rush. Last I read he wants to play 60% of the snaps and that won't happen here.

Ayers played very very good last year, he made a impact every time he was on the field so I doubt we sign a DE.

It seems that the Broncos already have a good group of DEs to take into TC. Some are all around run/pass defenders and some more of the speed type guys. Freeney wanted more than the Broncos were willing to pay, and Abraham seems similar. It's a good sign the Broncos aren't compelled to pay a high price for a veteran, but aging star player the way that Oakland and San Diego have.

I am thinking the chances of signing Abraham are shrinking, and the Broncos will keep Jeremy Beal and Quanterus Smith instead

Each new day is a day we are more likely to sign Abraham than the last.

We'll see, I could see it either way. It will be interesting to see what Elway and the FO do with regard to Abraham. But according to Andrew Mason, Jeremy Beal has picked right up where he left off last training camp before he got injured

Well lets see if our guys stay healthy before we write off signing Abraham.

                              Edited..
