Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I think the Broncos would like to have TEs who are good blockers and receivers. Tamme is not such a good blocker, and often lines up split/wide. A Tamme trade would depend on what the Broncos think of Lucas Reed.
The Patriots might sign Dallas Clark and Brandon Lloyd. They are in desperate need of someone like Tamme.
I think if the Patriots would offer something for him you take it. I'm not afraid of the Pats. Them having Tamme doesn't make them more intimidating. We are loaded with TEs, and I would love for Virgil Green to have a regular spot on the field. We need guys out there who do it all when we're in the no-huddle.

If green was better then tamme he would be on the field.

The only thing he's not arguably better than Tamme at is the mental game. He's better with the ball in his hands, he's a much better blocker, and he's just genuinely more athletic. Tamme is Peyton's guy, but there's a reason Dreesen got a lot more looks towards the end of the year. He can block and catch. Don't be surprised if VG's versatility gets him higher on the depth chart this year. Second year with Manning he could do some good stuff.
The way I look at it if Green or Thomas step up this year we may not really need him...If the coaching staff is comfortable we could fleece the pats because their need is so bad and it wouldn't hurt us too bad. I say go for it!

Tamme is the better receiver, but Green is by far the better blocker. If JT is coming along well, there may be more TE than needed, and getting value for one wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. IMO I can't trust JT as he's never really "wowed" me on the field, but I'm not seeing what the coaches see.

Not necessarily the case as of now. Last season, Peyton Manning just got to town and needed a security blanket to go to, and Tamme was the guy because of his experience with Manning.
When Green played, he flashed big play ability. I think he's going to be better than Thomas and Tamme next year, but it's all speculation, and he needs a shot to prove it.
I do not think anyone will give us "value" for Tamme but I would take a 7th to keep him off the Pats. I do not think he would cause problems for us I just want the pats to struggle as much as possible
The only criticism of Virgil Green coming out of Nevada was that his blocking was suspect. During the 2011 season his blocking was excellent. He served a four game suspension in 2012 which put him way behind the program PM had going with Tamme and Dreessen. With a good TC and preseason, he may move up the depth chart.
It seems the Broncos were trying to get two solid blocking/receiving TEs in the 2011 draft. If Julius Thomas is fully healthy, this could be the year they produce. 12 personnel tight could be deadly in the hands of PM with run/pass an option on each down.

If we are going to deal him anywhere, it will be to the NFC, not within the AFC...... well maybe the JETs because we will neer play against them, unless they make the playoffs.
