  • Josh Gordon

    Supposedly is on the block.

One strike from a year suspension.

Would cost at least a 2nd or 3rd.

Signed for rest of this year, and 2 more fairly cheap, yes?

Its hard to justify spending a pick, high one at that, on him. Yes he is talented, but he is a knucklehead. Cant get his act together.

We are also stacked at WR. If we cant retain Deck after the year then I am down, but not now.

The last thing we need is someone else with drug problems in our lockerroom. We already have Miller who failed the stupidity test (amply named because there are ways around it and you know its coming)

Nay ignoring his off the field issues, with the loss of Clady we will likely play more 2 TE sets. We will find it pressing to keep the big 3 on the field at the same time to make up for the loss of Clady. I would love to add another speedster, but I dont see the space. If we could swing a 4th for him, but a 3rd is too steep for a guy we couldnt get into the rotation a heavy amount IMO.

Lance Kendricks maybe the most underutilized starting TE in the league. If we need him which I fear we might, it wouldnt be so bad for us to make a trade. If not Reed in Washington they are getting desperate and could use picks.

Both could make up for the lack of a security blanket we have in Decker

We are not gonna pay a second or third round pick for a 4th WR, especially since he has off-field problems. Use that to get a new LT or something.

Trade for him and trick the jags into giving us a first but out side of that i see no reason to.pursue him.

Isn't he the only threat they have at WR? If they really are looking at him it appears to be desperation. He has one good game and they put him on the market?

As somebody who is a browns fan and have watched all of their games. Josh Gordon has had more than one good game. He is a prototypical freak similar to Demaryius Thomas. I would venture to say that he is better than DT in the open field though but DTs hands are a little better. Both are Big, Strong, and FAST. I see them being very very similar players. If Gordon had a QB like Manning throwing him them ball look out. Its just kind of hard for him to do much with a bottom 5 QB in the NFL constantly throwing him the ball. Hes young and going thru some Von Miller esq mistakes.

If/when he does get traded, he will go to a team with a good QB and he will put up 1300 yards and 10 TDs as a reciever. Book it. Gordon is a beast.

True story, one of my teammates from high school plays for Baylor, and said that Josh Gordon, during his rookie season, visited Baylor football players and brought with him an undisclosed ridiculous amount of weed.

Let's keep him away from Denver.

I don't think the Broncos need Josh Gordon and he's already been suspended, so there is too much risk. Von Miller is enough trouble for now. I'd like to add Jabaal Sheard if he's available.

Agreed I think Sheard is a good DE not great but good. I'd also like Phil Taylor if he was available.

Well Im not sure if its because of the Raiders stupidity or the change in scheme but if we can get Decker into zone coverage like that the rest of the season we wont need any new receivers. They had Decker lining up consistently for a short in route all game long which is different from his usual outs or out and in. They kept him in the box and he played a lot like a TE and the Raiders kept the corners off him and played zone with S and LB's.

If Decker is anything hes smart and a good blocker so this worked in our advantage as he opened the flats up for runs and we all know how Manning destroys attempts at zone coverage. This scheme is perfect for us and it allows us to utilize Deckers skills to the fullest. Though I would expect other teams to play tighter coverage.
