You said it with the drops, he has been dealing with the shoulder problem that may hurt that.

I'd still keep him as long as he's not looking for #1 money.

Everyone would agree that DT is better but there is enough to keep both.
He has consistently had problems, I just need to any improvement before I would give him a contract which I haven't seen. He has at least one smh moment a game. I just hope he doesn't want to much

A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

Brian Hartlines deal is a good example of what he is worth 5 years 31M with about 10M guaranteed.

I am hoping both DRC and Harris take a 5 yr 30M deal similar to Chris Houston...prefer that to a mega deal for one CB.

Ayers 4/15 sounds fair given his sack production.

WW is the most likely to give a hometown discount and honestly may not fit most team schemes. 5/22M sound about right.

Your right with Woodyard re hometown discount/schemes for us 5 yrs/22 million is a steal and I think well get it too.Ayers Im still wondering about his worth and how replaceable he is.If Malik Jackson imroves as much next year as this year he probably will be better than ayers.Just sayin. Not an ayers hater but..

Fair point about Jackson, I see him leaning more towards DT than DE though. He could be up to 300 lbs by next year. I do not see Ayers getting a huge deal, but he definately is playing his way to a 2nd contract with us. Not many teams go "big" like we do on the front four...so Ayers may not fit everyone. His "play the run first" style fits wghat we do. Besides, I also think he will be in hometown discount mode because he likes his teammates and I think he relishes being a role player.

Decker's FA status is timed perfectly with Peyton's time here - he will get paid somewhere...
Hate List for 2016-2017 Season: 1. Oakland, 2. New England, 3. Kansas City, 4. Pittsburgh and 5. Houston (yes, Houston....)

But will anyone give him number one money ala 8-9 mil a year?

8-9M deals are reserved for WRs who demand double teams...that is not Decker. I really do think he is happy here, has his reality show, and will take a 5M per deal.

Most analysts dont give him respect and say its mostly Manning whose brought out his production and that he is at best a 3rd string receiver on most squads.

Right now hes been playing like a top 20 receiver but I do wonder if he even has that big of value on the open market

I agree he is more valuable to us than on the open market.

so then what do you think of the front running 335, when millers back with.

                      ayers
                      jackson
                      wolfe

                      Trevathan
                      ww
                      miller

as the front 6 aligned kinda like a 2 4. that i bet would cause alot of people issues with blocking.

I think that sounds fair but we have also seen phillips slightly successful in the 3-2. Jackson has been great up the middle when weve rushed 3 and Ayers has awakened this year, thriving more now that he isnt used to open holes for others (which he still does well).

More often then not when we have a 3 man front weve dropped back 8 though we do have a few plays with blitzes.

How much would we save if we cut Tamme, Joel, and Kuper?

                          Around 10-11 million?

Ask Champ to reduce his salary to 5-6 mil, and that's around 15 extra to play with on top of remaining cap space as is.

And ask Manning to reduce his if we need a little more.

                          Always options out there.

Players only reduce there salaries if they believe we are close to doing something and its necessary or more likely when they get it restructured better in their favor

In all honesty I am not confident enough in Green yet to cut both TE's and both Green and Thomas have a history of injury which makes that idea a bit nerve racking.

you can play miller any where i mean he could blitz up the middle like ww/trevathan, when we got that suck.

True and Woodyard is great on the weakside if he ever needs to be. Though Miller has not shown Phillips ability to play with his hand in the dirt as much, hes not a true Leo but I think he was coming a long last year
