I think we should do it immediately. The front office can make it work. Plus he's made his $. He won't ever get a contract like that again and might come cheaper on an extension knowing he's on a SB contender while Manning is here. I would offer a 3rd and 5th and get it done. Who cares about mid to low draft picks at the moment when we need all the pieces now to win one at least while Peyton is here.

Everything I have read says we have about 10M in cap space. We would only have to pay the remaining 7M on his ccontract for his services this year. With that said, I think he would be a good investment for the remainder of the season/post season. You need a pass rush in the playoffs, and we havent had a great outing yet this year. Allen would instantly provide and upgrade, not to mention much needed depth.

I agree especially if this is the case but I would not trade anything more then a mid rounder, but who would you get rid of to make room Hillman or Carter who are recently in the doghouse due to their poor play or another DE or OLB like Ayers (forcing Wolfe and Malik to left side)

Send them a conditional 3rd based off an extension in the off-season, then when the time arrives, offer him one we know he'll refuse. Let him walk.

I would hate if Seattle got Allen ... I'm not willing to part with a 2nd but I'm ok with 3rd as long as it stays a 3rd round pick if that makes any sense
