Jared Allen trade talks are now dead. Last of teams they were talking to are out.

They wanted a good pick for a player who would only be here for 8 games and despite contradicting reports ESPN said the Broncos would have needed a comfortable contract extension to get Allen here and I dont think they were comfortable with that, Elway said he was happy with our DE's as long as Ayers and Phillips stay healthy a long with Miller he believes our pass rush is not in need of Allen. Though I do beg to differ (I do believe Allen is an upgrade to Phillips who would be great in rotation)

I think if we were given this chance at a trade after losing Doom we would have tried to take it (though we would have needed to renegotiate his contract)

That's why I'm not giving on up on this for another 15 or so minutes.

Last year the Patriots made the deal for Talib with only a minute left before the deadline. Unlikely a trade will happen but it is fun to keep refreshing my twitter feed in hopes that a big deal has gone down.

I talked to high-ranking Broncos source this morning and team was not in on Jared Allen. Shaun Phillips has 6.5 sacks. Jared Allen has 4.5.

I don't expect much to happen, but A LOT can happen from what Klis found out this morning and now. Stay tuned...
