  • No way Pryor falls to us, but I would love if they moved up for him.

    • Love the draft selections, especially Skov, we may even be able to get him in the third and get a quality CB in the second. I don't like double dipping in receivers in free agency. I'd be ok with Britt because we could get him cheap, but Jones will want too much. DT, WW, and Britt would be nice. Then add a WR late in the draft or hope Gerrell Robinson steps up off the PS.

DRC should be a relatively easy re-sign, I'm not worried about losing him.

I know he was a beast, but I think it's just time for Knowshon to move on. That's tough for me to say, cuz I love the way he plays.

Overall, I like what you did.

      • Post-Combine Offseason, Quick Hits

        1. WR Allen Robinson, Penn State
        6'2 220 (4.56, 40 yd dash)
A polished route runner with double moves and savvy after-the-catch. Big bodied and can block. There shouldn't be much difference between him production and Eric Decker's. I actually like Allen Robinson's route-running better.

        2. SS Deone Bucannon, Washington State
        6'1, 211 (4.50, 40 yd dash)
He's the second best strong safety in the class and is complete but unpolished for the next level. By year two he should be a true impact player. He's a hard-hitting and rangy safety who can be an enforcer on our defense.

        3. CB Antone Exum, Virginia Tech
        6'0, 213 (4.50, 40 yd dash)
This is going to be the underrated pick of our draft. He will impact us as a defense the same way Brandon Browner impacted the Seahawks as a big and almost very physical corner who excels in press-man technique. His talent level is second-round, his injury history should put him in the 5th round, but his versatility is so special we should pick him late 3rd round; he played nickelback through strong safety.

        4. DT Caraun Reid, Princeton
        6'2, 302 (4.91, 40 yd dash)
He may be the most pro ready rotational player. He has the speed and burst to get to the quarterback from the inside and though questions are raised about his arm length he keeps his legs churning every play. I like him to be immediately ready to step up and contribute to the defensive tackle position

        5. WR Jeff Janis, Saginaw Valley State
        6'3, 219 (4.40, 40 yd dash)
Speed guy who can take the top off of defenses vertically and also return kicks and punts.

        6. RB George Atkinson III, Notre Dame
        6'1, 218 (4.48, 40 yd dash)
Let our luck with sixth rounder runningbacks continue! I think this guy can be everything that Ronnie Hillman won't be. He runs between-tackles and outside-tackle with the same speed and acceleration. He can line up at receiver and he can catch the ball of the backfield. Notre Dame keeps him on the field for third downs so we know he can pass protect. However, he is lean built and has only ran by committee so I'm sure he can last until this pick. As the grandson of a Raider great I know this division above all others have him in the back of their mind.

        7. LB Avery Williamson, Kentucky
        6'1, 246 (4.66, 40 yd dash)
Let our luck with Kentucky linebackers continue! I hope this guy can become our starting middle linebacker just to say we did it but he has a lot of work to do. However, with a solid middle linebacker signing we can groom Williamson into the position and perhaps if an injury were to happen he would show us the same tenacity and talent as his other Kentucky Wildcats have shown us. At the very least he's a strong addition for our horrible special teams coverage unit.

        Resign CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
        Resign DE Shaun Phillips
Sign DE Everson Griffen (Minnesota Vikings)
Sign LB Daryl Smith (Baltimore Ravens)

Resign CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - one of the top cornerbacks in the league
Resign DE Shaun Phillips - he was very impressive for us last year, situational pass rusher
Sign C Jonathan Goodwin - a better run blocker and more experienced pass blocker than Ramirez
Sign LG Charlie Johnson - starter every game that he's played and is a powerful run blocker
Sign MLB Jon Beason - defensive leader in Carolina and returned to form last yr, can he stay healthy?
Sign DE Will Smith - equally adept against the pass and the run, says he is a 100% health
Charlie Johnson is a horrible guard check pro football focus

          • Not a fan of your OL FA pick ups. The draft is ok. Robinson I haven't watched a ton of us don't know how much I can really say on that one. I will say there are some receivers rising quick on my board especially after seeing them at the combine and combining that with their play on the field. Guys like Cooks and Moncrief are definitely creeping up I'm sure many draft boards.

Bucannon is a nice pick. Adds a nice physicality to our team. If McGill is there in the 2nd I would rather go that direction and give us that 2 big Corners on the outside that both have good speed and coverage ability. I think FA is where I would look for our starting SS as the FA class is deep this year at Safety.

I think McGill may get beat too easily in the NFL and man just watch a little bit of Robinson's highlights and there will be something that catches your eye.

I have him for his run blocking with I believe will make us more of a dynamic team. If he can keep a tackle off Peyton for 3 seconds he's fine. The Vikings QBs are so trash I can't actually pay attention to their offensive line grades because all of their QBs hold on to the ball long enough for me to type this response up.

                • Jerick McKinnon RB Georgia Southern would be a good late round pick ... if he's still there. I like him better than Atkinson. McKinnon is a very explosive athlete with versatility and great work habits.

                  • Dont need to replace Ramirez.

Beadles is who needs to be replaced on the line.

Draft is good, except i dont want to spend our top pick on a receiver.

                    • I like both receivers, however I think Exume is more a safety than corner, which is fine as we probably need to upgrade anyway.

Big fan of GAIII. Bloodlines, big, physical, athletic. Everything I've seen has him projected in rounds 5-7 so if that's the case and he's around I'm all for snapping him up.

Speaking of Exum, what I particularly liked was his tape against Sammy Watkins in 2012. He played off most of the time, most likely to keep the big plays at a minimum, but him playing off was almost a bonus because of his experience at safety. He closed in on a lot of routes, breaking up passes that were thrown his way. However, in space he's inconsistent on run defense, sometimes taking poor angles to pursue but sometimes effectively wrapping up the ballcarrier saving the big play. When he jammed Watkins off the line however he really stood out. Most of the time the jams were so effective because by the time Watkins got any separation Tajh Boyd was getting sacked. The times when Tajh stood upright and Watkins got behind him, Exum had the strides and ball skills to keep up with Watkins down the field and break up almost all of the passes. The one pass that was completed on him was for a touchdown but the ball was thrown perfectly... and it is Sammy Watkins. Overall I graded his performance in that grade an 8.5 out of 10.

Watching him play against Miami was hard because you can tell his hips are too stiff to match up with pure speed receivers if he's forced to play off man coverage because although he limits the big catch the receiver can break him down in space with quick double moves. This wouldn't actually be a problem because of Danny Trevathan. What would help is a better pass rush and better middle linebacker play, one who can actually be a coach on the field. However, if he jam those receiver on the line we need a SS adept in coverage to help compete for those balls.
