  • Kony Ealy

If he falls to at least the 20's in the draft do we trade up, if so should we move to a 3-4. I think we have the perfect team for it with his addition.

Draft a 4-3 DE and then switch to a 3-4? ... Umm, pass. I do like Ealy, but I don't think we should trade up for him. If he falls to 31 though I'd have no problem if we drafted him. But I definitely don't think we should switch to a 3-4 if we draft him. Sure, it would probably help out Von Miller, Malik Jackson, and Derek Wolfe, but Trevathan would be a terrible fit in that system. No, I think the 4-3 is a much better look for our defense.

No trading up unless for Mack or Gilbert. Ealy is a 43 DE, why switch to 34?

I'm not sure I'd draft Ealy at 31.

            Dont like Ealy.

Not worth trading up for, should get a good player when we pick regardless.

Other than Mack unless he slipped, no one realistically is worth moving up for.

Then you don't know much about Ealy....truth is, he won't make #31.

He's extremely raw and he didn't help himself with a really poor 40 time

I know a lot about Ealy, I watched Mizzou play 4 times this year and IMO he's being overrated. He was the second most productive player on that DL. He reminds me of a more filled out, yet not as good Damontre Moore.

No, you don't know how to evaluate talent. He is not overly explosive, doesn't have a decent set of pass rush moves, doesn't hustle to the ball and IMO doesn't exactly show the best on field awareness all the time. Dee ford is by far better

This. There is nothing truly impressive about Ealy when you consider that he doesn't have the natural athleticism (ex: combine numbers) to help make up for not being a dominant player.

Why should I believe he is better than Damontre Moore, Nick Perry, Whitney Mercilus, or DaQuan Bowers?

No, we don't trade up for anybody. Trade down? YES, get extra picks ... both this year and next (4th at least- this year and a 6th next year??) back to 7-12 pick in 2nd round. IF Ealy is there at 31 ... probably take him - not happening; he will not be there. TRADE DOWN, if possible.

                            he'll be a top 15 pick

I see that being very doubtful. Too many teams have other needs at other positions in the top 15. With no one trading back into the first round I see Dallas at 16 and Philly at 22 being possible fits. He is still rated as the 3rd DE available in the draft and as a late first, early second.
