We can easily move Wolfe or Jackson inside to DT and let go of Unrein or Vickerson. Both rush the passer better on the inside and Tuitt will be a better rusher than both of them on the outside. Surprisingly quick with a solid swim and rip move. Also has shown that he can spin, but it still needs development.

Yea, and that's where Malik Jackson AND Derek Wolfe play. That isn't close to a need.

        He's a DE/DT, we need a natural DE.

        Simple, logic, try it.

My proof is in every article you can find on the Internet in past 4yrs about ND Defense scheme. They ALL say 3-4 defense.

Knighton is our UT and JDR scheme has both DT having to take on double teams. Jackson could be a UT but his height hurts him as a interior defender because he has a harder time keeping his pad level low. Most "elite" UT in the league right now are 6ft 300lbs type players. Jackson is a perfect 5tech because of his height and athleticism allow him to be able to take double teams but has the ability to one gap as a pass rusher

If you watched Notre Dame games you can definitely see we lined up in a 4 man set for a solid chunk of the time. While it wasn't always a 4-3 it would usually be a 4-2-5.

And it is true that Tuitt played end spot SOMETIMES it usually ended up with him playing contain or dipping into the inside. His speed is what will hinder him if he was to play purely off the edge and that is why he'd be playing a Robert Ayers role where he eats up blockers and stop the run in a 4 line set.

He can definitely play in a 4-3 it's just that I think he'd be playing more in the 3 or 5 tech than as a classic pass rushing 6 or 9 tech on the edge.
