Basically a 2 year deal. Just under 7 million per year, That is a low member. But I am not suprised. The draft is deep this year for Wide receivers. I am surprised that he went to New York to catch passes from Geno Smith and to deal with the New York media.

Round 6: Joel Bitonio G Nevada....Don't know much about O-Line because well I watch skill players when I watch games. This guy seemed to be highly regarded at combine though and he fits a need.
Round 3 Pick 95: Joel Bitonio G Nevada...same logic as before, we need a g, everyone likes him so here he is.
Broncos Trade Round 1 Pick 31(600 pts) and Round 5 Pick 159 ( 28 pts)
to San Francisco 49ers for their Round 2 pick 56 (340 pts) and Round 2 Pick 61 (292 pts).
I don't like the trade up/down mocks for various reasons.. the effort is much appreciated thoughComment

Peppers and Beason?
Maybe one or two year deals?
Reunite them with Fox, maybe I can die a happy man if that happens.
I'm sure Elway has something good brewing up.Comment

Speculative Offseason
Release Joel Dreessen
Release Jacob Tamme
Sign WR Steve Smith
In the draft we trade our first and a third and for an earlier first and fourth
Draft ILB CJ Mosley from Alabama in the first round
Trade back our second and fourth for two picks in the third
Draft NT DaQuan Jones from Penn State in the third round
CB Walt Aikens from Liberty in the third round
OW Dri Archer from Kent State in the fourth round
TE Arthur Lynch from Georgia in the fifth round
DE Aaron Lynch from South Florida in the sixth round
ILB Avery Williamson from Kentucky in the seventh roundComment

I wouldn't mind it although if we get rid of both Tamme and Dreesen we could likely afford more than Steve Smith (although it would be nice to have ~$4 million in cap to roll over). Moving back in this year's draft is smart as about every position we need is going to have guys available in later rounds who could very realistically make a run at starting positions.Comment

Blood & Guts Everywhere. Another Steve Smith Thread
I may be in the minority but I really hope we're thinking about bringing in Steve Smith. We could use a heart implant on offense, the same way our defense has recently picked up gritty players. Smith just recently spoke about his release from Carolina and said he loves the city and his time there but if he gets a chance to play the Panthersut your googles on because it's gonna be blood and guts everywhere." I don't know about you, but that's the mentality I want from an offensive player and the kind of mindset we need to beat Seattle/ San Franciso/ Carolina type teams.

I agree, for the right price he would be a nice pickup. He's pound for pound still one of the toughest receivers out there, maybe behind Victor Cruz. Given that the teams we need to look at beating are SF and Seattle, Smith would fit in the mentality we should be looking to develop.Comment

he would be a great pickup and bring that nastiness to our offense to match up with players like sherman and earl thomas. I would be for it for the right price.Comment

How does our future look cap wise with the recent signings?
I haven't seen it discussed, so if it has been please direct me to the thread. But are the Broncos looking at a full rebuild once manning retires and some of these free agent acquisitions start to age more? Has the future been mortgaged for the present?Comment

No.
Just a bunch of Pats fans and Boston idiots over-reacting.
Talib deal is fine.
Ward deal is fine.
Ware deal is basically a 2 year deal, can cut him in year 3, only a 1.6 mil dead money hit.
That being said, next year will be interesting to see what happens with alot of guys due bigger deals.Last edited by ERoyal248; 03-13-2014, 02:54 PM.Comment

The Broncos are fine on the Cap at this time. Next year will get a little interesting to see how Elway and company work the cap to resign D. Thomas, possibly Von, J. Thomas, Franklin, Harris, Knighton, Moore, and some others. The good and bad is the Broncos haven't really back loaded any of the contracts they dished out over the last few days meaning they won't have huge cap numbers later on that are difficult to deal with. Broncos do this for a couple of reasons from what I can understand...1) Teams use the Signing Bonus regularly (large amounts as most contracts have at least a little) find themselves eventually in trouble so with the way the Broncos do it they never completely mortgage the future. 2) Bowlen is a great owner but one thing he doesn't have a lot of is actual cash on hand so he doesn't like to dish out the huge signing bonuses having to really strain his cash flow. I could be wrong on that 2nd one but remember reading that somewhere.Comment

2015 free agents: Wes Welker, Von Miller, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas Jacob Tamme, Joel Dreessen, Kevin Vickerson, Terrance Knighton, Rahim Moore, Orlando Franklin, Virgil Green, Nate irving, Quinton Carter.
We've got ~$80M in contracts set for 2015 already.
It's not looking great.Comment

I see only 6 must keeps on that list that will take a huge chunk but that's why we have the spaceA healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.Comment
