  • Will Denver consider drafting a WR?

Anyone think or heard rumors if Denver will consider drafting a WR within the first 4 rounds?

I doubt with a number 1 pick which will be reserved for defense.

2nd round or 3rd round? I've been told this draft is deep with WR would also imagine Denver investing a top pick on a offensive lineman.

@JayJack on DBMB has been saying for months now that the Broncos will draft Ole Miss WR Donte Moncrief.

I am sure they are considering it.

So much is going to depend on what continues to happen in free agency. If Elway can sign a significant WR free agent (Smith?) then not early. I could easily see them picking up a WR in the mid late rounds.

If they do not get a WR in free agency I would not be surprised to see the Broncos selecting a WR in the first round if the right guy is there. Decker needs to be replaced. By f/a or draft, maybe both.

I will get on my soapbox again and hope for Marqise Lee to slip to the Broncos.

We will definitely draft a WR, but not in the first round. Caldwell will move to number two and Welker stays in the slot. Not sure who is out there is FA. Jason Avant is a reliable guy who Ivwould like to have on the team.

Would the Broncos go for a short team deal for Miles Austin? He could be a serviceable number two receiver...

MHR had them linked ro talking to various WR's at different rounds of the draft for whatever its worth

We provide you with a list of prospects who have had some sort of interaction with the Broncos, whether that's a pre-draft workout, attending their pro day or interviews at the East West Shrine Game, Senior Bowl or Combine.

                Devin Street,Isaiah Burse,Jeff Janis,Matt Hazel
I've been sold on Janis for awhile now ... Only negative mentioned about him at the combine was that he has small hands

Our position in the draft is looking like WR or CB. That's just the way its stacking up. I'd be fine with Jacoby Ford, Caldwell and young big time athlete at WR.

Donte Moncrief is a tall wide bodied receiver like Decker with just as good of hands but is one of the most athletic players in the draft. Hes also a crisper route runner and doesnt get jammed as easily and blocks just as well. Hes the reliable receiver we always wanted Decker to be.

It all depends on our next move. Right now I think we draft LB, CB then WR. I think we will lock up D.Smith though, so I can see our first 3 picks going CB, WR then OG.

He is a monster athlete but he doesnt really generate a lot of YAC, and DT has never been a route runner, but yeah I here hes a huge fan. Hes got longer arms the. Hes got the straight line speed that nobody thought he had but he always generates a good deal of separation which has forced teams to play him differently.

In all honesty I dont see him as a #1 but hes more of a borderline #1 then Decker was (sorry jets you got suckered)

I believe he was talking about as far as toughness. He mentioned that he likes to go across the middle, and i'm not sure what else. It was a interview at the Combine sitting at a round table, people were packed in that room and the noise in the background was louder than the mic.

Thats what I love about the guy he doesnt shy away from the big hits and hes smart and a crisp route runner. He reminds me a lot of Rod Smith but way more athletic. Ild love to see him and DT on the field together talk about dangerous
